[Kickstart This!] The Ultimate Zombie Playing Cards Deck

The folks at Antarctic Press are developing a zombie themed deck of cards featuring illustrations from artist Brian Denham (“Iron Man”, “Green Hornet”, “X-Files”, “Angel”). While the deck can be used to play any classic card game, they have also developed a new game to go along with the zombie theme. They have taken to Kickstarter for “The Ultimate Zombie Playing Cards Deck” to seek crowd funding and the backing options are pretty sweet. You can pick up a deck for under ten bucks, or you can go all out to get your hands on some original artwork. READ MORE

Review: ‘Crawling Sky’ #2

Back with their second installment of Crawling Sky, Joe R. and Keith Lansdale take a backseat to Brian Denham’s talents in visual storytelling, as their reliance on expository dialogue reaches unsatisfactory heights. His series presents the rare aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, where there are, presumably, no zombies left in the world, and follows the remaining members of the American armed forces and government who must deal with the consequences of such a pandemic disease. Adapted from his imaginative and thrilling novella anthologized in “Son of Retro Pulp Tales,” Joe R. Lansdale, his son Keith, and artist Brian Denham (“The X-Files”) deliver the Weird West goods with Crawling Sky #1. Reverend Mercer features, once again, in this irresistible tale of terror, only instead of confronting zombies, ghouls, and werewolves, this five-issue miniseries sees him dedicated to solving the mystery surrounding an isolated cabin where a savage creature lurks in the shadows.
