Orphaned Land Release Album Artwork And Track Listing For ‘All Is One’

Israeli metal band Orphaned Land has released the album artwork and track listing for their upcoming album All Is One, which comes out June 25th in N. America via Century Media Records. The artwork, which was done by French artist Metastazis (Paradise Lost, As I Lay Dying) incorporates the three biggest religious symbols into one piece of art (I foresee more than a few tattoos coming from this). All Is One is the followup to 2010′s The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR. You can see the artwork and track listing below. READ MORE

Killswitch Engage Announces US Headline Tour: Dates Inside

Metalcore band Killswitch Engage has announced a full string of US headlining tour dates. Support will come from As I Lay Dying, Miss May I, and Affiance. The tour kicks off in Oklahoma City and wraps up just over a month later in Joliet.

Vocalist Jesse Leach comments, “We look forward to sharing this tour with our old friends and brothers in metal As I Lay Dying. I personally have never had the chance to tour with them and I am looking forward to having such a quality band out with us to give this tour even more fire! We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I and a new band we’re all excited to see live called Affiance. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Our live show will be full-on energy with all of us ready to take this to a whole new level.

Bassist Mike D. adds, “We are super excited to be back out with our good buds in As I Lay Dying! They are some of our favorite dudes to hang with on the road, so assumptions are high that utter chaos shall ensue. There will be so much metal riffage — you could build your own Carnival Cruse Ship. That’s right, ‘CHUGGA CHUGGA Paralysis’ is surely imminent.

All tour dates can be found below. Also, make sure to check out our interview with drummer Justin Foley here. READ MORE

Asking Alexandria Comment On Suicide Silence Singer’s Passing: Add I See Stars To Monster Energy Outbreak Tour

British metalcore band Asking Alexandria are about to embark on the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour alongside As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire, and Attila. Suicide Silence was supposed to also be on the bill but the passing of singer Mitch Lucker has obviously required that band to pull off of the tour. Now, Sumerian Records label mates I See Stars have been added to the bill. They will be playing between Attila and Memphis May Fire. Tour dates and ticket information can be found here.

Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce states, “First and foremost I would like to talk about a dear friend of mine who was prematurely taken from us this month. Mitch Lucker was one of the kindest and most passionate people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. My thoughts are not only with his family and friends, but also with the millions of people, worldwide, who Mitch helped to mould and inspire into the people they are today. A great man was lost who’s love and passion reached all corners of the globe. As many of you know, Suicide Silence were preparing to join us on our upcoming ‘Outbreak’ Tour. Due to the devastating circumstances they will no longer be joining us physically. They will however, Mitch included, be with us in spirit. We will go out on this tour with As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire & Attila to pay our tributes and respects to Mitch and his brothers in Suicide Silence. A portion of all tickets and official tour t-shirts sold will go to Mitch’s daughter for the Kenadee Lucker Education Fund.

Suicide Silence could never be replaced on our tour as they are the only band in the world who could bring their element, intensity and power to the line-up. For the sake of giving the fans the best show we can under the circumstances, we have decided to add Sumerian family members I See Stars to the bill, NOT AS A REPLACEMENT BY ANY MEANS, but as another band who’s love and passion for music and their fans is as tried and true as ours. Now, more than ever, we need to come together to celebrate our collective love of music and to show compassion & solidarity in our scene. It’s time to put aside all petty differences and remember what it is that brings us all together, the music. Mitch- from myself and everyone else who will be taking part in this tour, you are forever in our hearts. This one’s for you. We love you. CheersREAD MORE

A Veil Release Fantastic Zombie Music Video For “Tombs”

A Veil, the latest project from Chad Ackerman (formerly of As I Lay Dying, Destroy The Runner, Austrian Death Machine, and Chapter 14), has released a fantastic video for “Tombs” with the makeup and effects done by Frank Ippolito and Ian Von Cromer (Pirates Of The Caribbean, Chronicles of Riddick, Syfy Face-Off). The video follows a zombie as it feasts upon animal/human hybrids until, at the end, its curiosity gets it to eat a carrot. That’s right, the lyrics and video are actually promoting vegan awareness.

Ackerman explains the writing/directing of the video, saying, “I wrote two other different treatments for the video before deciding to make it into a horror-themed video. I have a love/hate relationship with zombies. They really terrify me, but I have always loved them since I was a kid. It reflects the lyrics of the song, which starts from an animal’s point of view, and then it shifts to a vegan’s point of view. The main character (played by brother, Christian Ackerman, a professional mime and actor) goes from place to place eating humanized versions of animals (played by Ackerman, his wife and musical comrades). The video shows that there is nowhere safe for the animals to go until the main character’s curiosity brings awareness. You can say the zombie in this case is me, I’ve been vegan for two years and I did it out of curiosity and to improve my health. I think that as time moves forward, and as our education grows, that more and more people will lean towards or fully change to a plant based diet.

While I’m still going to enjoy my baked trout tonight, I will say that the video is extremely well done and I loved watching every second of it. Check it out below! READ MORE

As I Lay Dying Release ‘Anodyne Sea’ Music Video

As I Lay Dying have released a video for ‘Anodyne Sea’ off their latest album, ‘The Powerless Rise’ exclusively on CraveOnline.com. Apparently, a new form of video technology was created specifically for this video in which a Nikon D7000 HD-SLR camera and a Teradek Cube were attached to a helmet to create the “first-person” illusion. Funny, haven’t I seen that before in Smack My Bitch Up (careful, that link is NSFW)?

Album Review: After The Burial ‘In Dreams’

It seems lately that the big craze now is 7 or 8 string guitars: The lower the tuning, the more brutal the music. At least, that’s what bands think. More often than not, poor tones and generic songwriting plague what could otherwise be an interesting use of extended range instruments. After The Burial (interview here) tout their dual wielding 8 string guitarists as a huge part of their appeal. So does it help them or hinder them on their latest endeavor, ‘In Dreams’? Check out after the jump.
