Fernando Barreda Luna Moves From ‘Atrocious’ To ‘Kiss Of Vengeance’!

Director Fernando Barreda Luna made a splash last year with his found footage horror film Atrocious (also a Bloody-Disgusting selects title), and he’s doing a hyper-violent western short to cleanse his palate between features, Kiss Of Vengeance.

Kiss of Vengeance is “a western tale about a girl who becomes a true hero that fights the Mafia, inspired by a deep desire of pursuing the killers who executed her family in a horrible massacre back in the 90′s. This is the lonely journey about a renegade young rider who can’t trust anyone but her own skills. Set in the outlawed border of Mexico and U.S. ruled by the Cartels.”

Today, Bloody Disgusting Selects launches “Killer Sisters’ Midnight Hour”, its first ever one-hour episodic TV show on the free, ad-supported Hulu and Hulu Plus subscription service!

Directed by Mike Williamson, “From their home kitchen studio, the Killer Sisters highlight shortened versions of some of the most popular titles from the Bloody Disgusting Selects catalogue. Each episode features the Sisters’ color commentary and ends with a bloody death. Favorite deaths include: zombie horde, werewolf, and full body amputation!”

The featured movies have been condensed into one hour so viewers can enjoy the bloody highlights in this TV show format. The full-length versions of these highlighted films are available in the Movies section of Hulu and Hulu Plus. The first four episodes of the show are BD Selects titles Atrocious, The Woman, Chop, and Rammbock: Berlin Undead. You can watch the one-hour TV episodes streaming here. YellowBrickRoad: “A small team of explorers heads into the New Hampshire wilderness to investigate the unexplained disappearance of the residents of Friar, who left their homes 70 years earlier — without their money, their clothes or a word about where they went.” Add to Netflix queue.

Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin has written up another awesome movie review. This time, he tackles Bloody-Disgusting Selects Atrocious, which will be in theaters August 17th – 26th. The Spanish found footage horror film details the last five days of Cristian Quintanilla and his siblings and the unnatural circumstances they encountered.

Godsmack just finished co-headlining the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival and has several more tour dates lined up for the rest of summer and the beginning of fall.

I’m super excited to report that we’ve acquired North American rights to the post-apocalyptic comedy Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass for limited theatrical (we’ll be going art house with this guy), VOD and DVD release as part of their Bloody Disgusting Selects film series. The pic was first announced here on Bloody this past June and premiered at Fantasia.

Montreal-based director Pat Tremblay wrote, directed and played the titular character in Hellacious along with editing, co-scoring and creating most of the visual effects. Cast includes Navin Pratap, Jamie Abrams, Paula J. Davis, Laurent Lecompte and Francis Dubois.

“The story centers on a man suffering from amnesia who wakes up inside a cryogenic freezer as a robotic voice bombards him with information about World War III.”

Tremblay’s most recent films Heads of Control: The Gorul Baheu Brain Expedition and Truck Lover screened as part of Montreal’s Festival du Nouveau Cinema.

Hellacious Acres was acquired out of its North American premiere as an official selection of the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.

Updated with official trailer! I think we got out of the gate pretty strong with the release of Rammbock (now available on DVD and VOD), but right now we’re gearing up for both Phase 7 (in theaters July 17) and what I think is one of the best movies of the year, Cold Fish, Sion Sono’s absolutely psychotic Japanese black comedy in the vein of a Takashi Miike film. I’d go on record as pretty much guaranteeing that you’re going to LOVE it (I reviewed it last September out of TIFF).

In order to keep Cold Fish UNCUT, Bloody Disgusting Selects is going out with the film UNRATED in limited arthouses beginning on August 5, which could expand if it does well enough. We’ve got those dates for you inside. For those of you not in the limited marketplace, Cold Fish will arrive on DVD and iTunes August 23, with an Amazon pre-order option now available. VOD fans (that’s me!) can catch it as it begins to spread from September 23-November 22.

The main reason we started Bloody Disgusting Selects was to find quality horror films – new and old – and bring them to you dear readers. Macabre, also known as “Darah”, is off-the-wall violent and has been called the “Indonesian Inside“.

Starring Ario Bayu, Julie Estelle, Imelda Therinne, Shareefa Daanish, Arifin Putra, “Two newlyweds, along with 4 of their best friends, interrupt their travels to pick up a troubled girl on an abandoned stretch of roadway.
