Mockingbird

The project, formerly known as “Red Balloons,” tells the story a couple, who are given a camera and a set of instructions. They must carry out what’s on the document or someone will die. Stashwick will play the husband, Anderson his wife.

An earlier synopsis Bloody got their hands on went like so: “Found footage thriller centering on three cameras that are given to three separate households on the same night with instructions to keep filming if they want to live, but as the night wears on, the characters are pulled into a deadly confrontation with each other at the behest of their unseen tormentor.

TV: Charity Wakefield Plays Normal Munster In ‘Mockingbird Lane’

British actress Charity Wakefield (pictured below; The Raven) is set to co-star opposite Eddie Izzard in NBC’s “Munsters” reboot “Mockingbird Lane,” reports Deadline.

The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about a family of “monsters” – vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein and their “plain” cousin (Wakefield) — with striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy “Pushing Daisies.”

Wakefield will play Marilyn, Lily’s beautiful niece and the only “normal” Munster (which makes her rather abnormal). Saved from being devoured by her own mother as an infant, she lives with the Munsters but has not inherited any of their special attributes. A college student who believes in good manners and congeniality toward the new neighbors, she regularly clashes with Grandpa (Izzard), but she gets along well with Aunt Lily and Uncle Herman, as well as with her young cousin Eddie. The role of Marilyn was played by Pat Priest in the original series. READ MORE

TV: First Casting For ‘Munsters’ Reboot, ‘Mockingbird Lane’!

TV: First Casting For Munsters Reboot, Mockingbird Lane!

Eddie Izzard (Valkyrie, Igor) is the first to be cast in NBC’s “Munsters” reboot as he’ll be moving into “Mockingbird Lane as Grandpa in the high profile pilot, reports TVLine.

The role was originated by Al Lewis in classic ’60s version.

The project, which was originally slated to go into production this month but got pushed back until early summer due to casting issues, is being stewarded by “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller and X-Men auteur Bryan Singer. Whereas the original was a comedy, the remake is being billed by NBC as a “visually spectacular one hour drama.”

The project features striking visuals mixed with all the classic “Munsters” archetypes. Grandpa Sam Dracula is essentially Dracula who assembled Herman because no man was good enough for his daughter Lily, a sexy vamp. Lily’s niece Marilyn the freak is actually normal and Lily and Herman’s only child, Eddie, has his werewolf tendencies surface in puberty, forcing the family to relocate to their famous 1313 Mockingbird Lane address. ‘The Strangers’ Director Plays Found Footage Game

Deadline and Shocktillyoudrop pick up another story from the tracking boards reporting that Universal Pictures has completed a pre-holiday acquisition of a spec script written by The Strangers writer/director Bryan Bertino.

Here’s the plot crunch sent around town: “Found footage thriller centering on three cameras that are given to three separate households on the same night with instructions to keep filming if they want to live, but as the night wears on, the characters are pulled into a deadly confrontation with each other at the behest of their unseen tormentor.

The project was acquired to be produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, and Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions. Bertino and his Unbroken Pictures partner Adrienne Biddle will also be producers. Blum and Platt have term deals at the studio. Blum is producer of the Paranormal Activity films.

Like Paranormal Activity, the Bertino spec was being sent around town under the title Mockingbird, and is based on “found footage.” Bertino is not aboard to direct the film. Blumhouse just wrapped the Rob Zombie-directed The Lords of Salem, as well as the Ethan Hawke-starrer Sinister for Summit Entertainment and is producing the ABC series “The River.” READ MORE
