My girlfriend shared a wonderful Valentines Day treat with me today. And instead of being selfish, I thought I would share it with everyone. That treat, is the Batman: Arkham Asylum Game Of The Year Edition over at STEAM for only $7.50.
You want an even better deal? You can save $546.04. The Square-Enix full package you can buy for ONLY $74.99, if you bought all the games separately, it would cost you over $600.00. The pack consists of 47 fucking games and game addons. That’s a mega deal, a little more than the cost of a normal console game for 47 games?! READ MORE
Terrifying moments aren’t just limited to horror games; even the most innocent and huggable of children’s titles can house within it a level filled with twisted mockeries of sanity that bring us to the brink of madness before killing us and forcing us to start over again. What makes these levels all the more frightening is their sudden appearance, in a game we would’ve never expected such an experience.
We’ve toiled away spending hundreds, possibly thousands of hours researching dozens of games across all imaginable platforms just so we could be sure to give you the definite list on the 15 shit-out-your-spine scariest moments in non-horror games. So go ahead dear reader, and muse over our list, vigorously disagree with it, and tell us just how wrong we are. Come on, we can take it. READ MORE
It’s good to be a horror fan, or what I like to affectionately refer to as Thrill Enthusiasts. Someone might hear that term for the first time and think of something else, since at first a Thrill Enthusiast sounds like someone who enjoys getting their crazy on by tempting death through various scenarios like skydiving, spelunking, or base jumping. They would be incorrect in that assumption, unless you’re the rare type of individual who enjoys horror media and terrifying, Oh-God-Please-Please-Don’t-Fail-Mr.-Parachute activities. If you happen to fall under the latter category I commend you sir (or ma’am), as you are a borderline superhero.
But I digress, something I find myself doing more and more often lately. It’s almost gotten to the point where I need to hire someone to follow me with a buzzer, monitoring my level of alertness and… on-topic-ness. Of course, paying someone to do such a task would be a problem, and finding a talented soul with the patience to really follow through would most likely prove even more difficult. Wait, I just did it again. Just click the Read More button before my compulsive rambling gets the better of me. READ MORE
Before everyone reading this gets too excited, the Batman: Arkham Asylum Game Of The Year Edition was announced for Europe and other PAL territories only. You’ll be able to get it on March 26th, and it will include the 6 previously downloadable challenge maps on the game disc, and new technology that will allow you to play the game in 3D. 3D!? Why is America getting jacked on the 3D action?!
Just kidding. Don’t get your thongs in a bunch, May 11th we will be getting the game, just a couple weeks later. The game will include 3D glasses, because otherwise trying to play the game in 3D would suck. Some screens past the break. READ MORE
Back again just like the past 2 years, and like always I want to know what YOU thought was the best horror game of 2009. Last year was a good race, and Dead Space narrowly beat out Left 4 Dead for the win. I could post a top 10 of my favorite horror games of last year, but I like it better when you guys do the work for me.
And now for my wonderous disclaimer. The games on this list are that that would reflect anything horror, sci-fi, bloody and or disgusting, gory, thrillerish, creepy, aliens, ghosts, zombies, vampires, plain old really weird stuff, stuff that is outside of “normal”, there are no Mario’s in this list, no Call Of Duty’s, these are the games people cringe at. The games some people are too scared to play. The games parents don’t want their kids playing. The games that we love here on BD.
Head past the break to see the games in the running! READ MORE

You’ll be able to get the demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and Playstation Network for the Playstation 3. The Batman: Arkham Asylum demo opens as the Dark Knight and Commissioner Gordon return The Joker back into confinement at Arkham Asylum. But things soon fall apart as The Joker gains the upper hand and springs a trap, setting Arkham Asylum’s occupants upon Batman. The demo offers gamers a taste of the fierce FreeFlow combat system, the cunning stealth of the Invisible Predator mechanic, and the feeling of becoming the World’s Greatest Detective as they navigate Arkham Asylum’s imposing Intensive Treatment facility. Players can unlock character bios, as well as get a sneak peak at some of the infamous foes that Batman will encounter within the cavernous and macabre confines of Arkham Asylum. READ MORE
What really makes Batman Arkham Asylum stand out from other Batman games, and even the movies, is that in this game, it’s Batman vs almost all of his main enemies. As he remains trapped in Arkham, and is pitted against such greats as The Joker, Bane, Poison Ivy, and more. Though we haven’t seen anything on a few huge enemies like Mr Freeze, Scarecrow, Two Face, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if there we’re a few tricks left up Eidos’s sleeves. Earlier pictures do show The Riddler’s cell, but no sign of him.
Batman Arkham Asylum will be released on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 on August 25th. READ MORE
Born with a rare mutation that made his skin green and scaly, and grew his body to grotesque proportions, Waylon Jones was raised by an alcoholic aunt and bullied relentlessly for his appearance. He briefly worked as a carnival freak under the name Killer Croc, but his misanthropy grew as did his bestial nature, pushing him to a life of crime. As his physical condition and mental state deteriorate, Killer Croc becomes a more bestial foe, increasingly detached from humanity.
The Joker. The most well known of all the enemies Batman goes up against. Even more familiar is Mark Hamill voicing him. An insanely homicidal super-villain, the Joker’s white skin, green hair, and blood-red lips belie the chaotic nature underlying his cartoonish appearance. The self-styled Clown Prince of Crime has no superpowers, beyond a capacity for incredible violence and a skill at creating deadly mayhem. He frequently concocts elaborate schemes to entrap his arch nemesis, Batman.
Batman Arkham Asylum, although postponed until August 25th, you can tell by watching this behind the scenes video was with good reason. The game is seemingly coming along very well, and Paul Dini himself chats a bit about how they wanted the game to look and feel. A few of the developers also lend a voice in chatting about he game and exactly what they were going for. Check it out below and look out for the game at the end of August on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
On of the big games showing at E3 this year is Eidos’s baby, Batman: Arkham Asylum. You can check out the trailer below which is specifically Playstation 3 related. In the PS3 version, upon purchase of the game, you can immediately download the Joker from the Playstation Store. What does that mean to you? You get to play as him in the games challenge maps. And the trailer below will show you exactly what you get to do, and all the fun you’ll have doing it.
The game was pushed back to August 25th, to make sure the game is perfect and hopefully it will be. It will be released on PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Head past the break for a ton of new screenshots. READ MORE
So far we’ve seen the Joker, we’ve seen Bane, and we’ve seen Harley Quinn. Well now we get to take a look at Poison Ivy, from the upcoming Batman Arkham Asylum. Which was set to release in June 23rd but is now pushed back and said to be released before the end of summer. The game will be out on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Read on to find out more about Poison Ivy, and go HERE to see a video of her.
Perhaps the Joker has won this time. As I read on 1up Batman Arkham Asylum has been delayed. Originally looking at a June 23rd release date, Eidos and Warner Bros Interactive have said the game will be released by the end of the summer, and fall officially begins September 22nd.
The press release states that the additional development time is “to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.” And as much as that totally sucks, I do appreciate them doing that and being honest about it rather than releasing a terrible game. READ MORE
PS3 3 owners, rejoice! Finally time that you got an exclusive! In the upcoming Batman Arkham Asylum, immediately upon the games release, The Joker will become a FREE downloadable character you can play in the games challenge mode.
In challenge mode, it’s similar to Horde in Gears 2, or the very fresh Survival Mode in Left 4 Dead; you will fight oncoming hordes of monsters until you die. Staying alive isn’t so much the point as building a multiplier up and earning points. And you will also be able to track your score online to see how you stack up against other Dark Knight enthusiasts. Keep an eye out for the games release June 9th of this year on PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE
Game Trailers, just posted this video from Batman Arkham Asylum that reveals the 1st look at Bane. Super beefed and ready to rip your face clean off.
In Batman Arkham Asylum while delivering The Joker to Arkham, he escapes, and runs a muck in the Asylum, and it’s up to you (Batman) to stop him. The game is out June 9th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE
Batman Arkham Asylum. I want it, NOW. This trailer, which you can watch HERE, is amazing. The graphics look incredible, and I just wanna play it right now! Waaaa!! Please ignore my unprofessional way of going about this. The game will be coming out May 1st on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
Exciting news about the highly anticipated Batman Arkham Asylum game, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will be doing the voices for Batman, and the Joker in the upcoming video game! I couldn’t think of 2 more perfect voices for the job. Kevin Conroy has been doing the voice of Batman in many animated Batman films and and in the animated series for over 15 years. And Mark Hamill of course from Star Wars, and has also lent his voice to Avatar, Metalocalypse, and about a million other animated cartoons, will be doing the voice of the Joker.
The story for Batman was written by Paul Dini, who wrote for the amazing animated series. He has also won 5 Emmys. This game keeps sounding better and better. All the pieces are in place, hopefully the gameplay will be as good as everything else. The game is to be released on the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 in the summer of 2009. READ MORE
