Formerly Fairytale, Bloody Disgusting Selects is gearing up to unleash The Haunting of Helena! Based on the tooth fairy lore, it will be released in select theaters on June 21, 2013. It will also be available on Cable VOD in partnership with Tribeca Films and for digital streaming on June 18, 2013. Additional local cable VOD information is available via Tribeca Film On Demand here. I haven’t seen the film, but I dig this trailer that looks like it has more to offer than the typical slow-burn.

I haven’t seen Alyce Kills, the newest BD Selects title from Zombie Strippers director Jay Lee, but I loved the trailer. Since that was so action packed I have to assume this new clip is from one of the more suspenseful, methodically paced, segments of the film – but it’s still got a spooky payoff.

“After accidentally knocking her best friend off a roof, Alyce is haunted by guilt and delves into a brutal nightmare wonderland of sex, drugs and violence, her mind tearing itself apart…along with anyone else who gets in her way.”

Director Jay Lee takes us down the rabbit hole and unleashes enough chaos and horror to satisfy any gore hound. Alyce Kills stars Tamara Feldman (Hatchet), James Duval (Donnie Darko, Doom Generation), Eddie Rouse (Pandorum), Larry Cedar (The Crazies), Yorgo Constantine (Fast Five), Megan Gallagher (“Millenium”) Rena Owen (Once We Were Warriors), Tracey Walter (Repo Man, Batman), Bret Roberts (May, Nighstalker) and Jade Dornfeld making her film debut as the titular character Alyce.

Alyce Kills takes an unflinching look at a young woman’s struggle to keep it together after tragically killing her best friend. Haunted by guilt, she begins to unravel–losing sleep, losing her job and eventually her sanity. Alyce Kills will be released in select theaters on May 24, 2013. I haven’t seen Alyce Kills, the newest BD Selects title from Zombie Strippers director Jay Lee, but d*mn if I’m not intrigued by this trailer. At only 45 seconds, it manages to pack more information and events into its runtime than most 2 minute jobs, and it doesn’t spoil the whole plot to boot!

Influenced by the works of Raimi and Carpenter, “In the dead of winter, Winona, a successful musician looking to relax and find creative inspiration, returns to her hometown to stay in a cabin rented by her manager. When she arrives, she coincidentally runs into her old boyfriend and some friends. Continuing their reunion at the cabin, the houseguests quickly discover that they are not alone; something horrific lurks underneath the floorboards. Blood Runs Cold is a frostbitten slasher that turns the snow red with gore.”

Written and directed by Sonny Laguna through Swedish-based production company Stockholm Syndrome Films, the English-language film premiered at London’s FrightFest in 2011. With a classic, terrifying villain, Blood Runs Cold showcases the far-reaching talent of its filmmakers to deliver a film that truly keeps you chilled to the end. On DVD and VOD platforms June 19 from Bloody Disgusting Selects is John Geddes’ post-apocalyptic Exit Humanity, which portrays a young man’s struggle to survive in the aftermath of an undead outbreak during the American Civil War. Heavily inspired by classic films such as Jeremiah Johnson and The Outlaw Josey Wales, Exit Humanity is a poetic tale told through the journal entries of its protagonist Edward Young.

The Canadian feature blends live-action and animation to explore deeper themes of fear, hope, redemption, and evil. We’ve added a second clip, this time hoping to fend off the undead with fire.

Starring horror icons Bill Moseley (Devil’s Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses), Dee Wallace (E.T., Cujo), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, The Watchmen, 300), and new horror hero Mark Gibson, Exit Humanity is a zombie saga that tells the tale of the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. A brand new trailer for the Australian thriller Crawl, which will launch under our Bloody Disgusting Selects banner later this year. This new teaser plays it far less quiet than the last one and isn’t afraid to get flat-out intense.

Winner of Best director, actress and cinematographer from Screamfest LA, “‘Crawl’ is a character-driven thriller set in an unknown, rural town. A seedy bar-owner hires a mysterious Croatian to murder an acquaintance over an unpaid debt. The crime is carried out, but a planned double-crossing backfires and an innocent waitress suddenly becomes involved. Now a hostage in her own home, the young woman is driven to desperate measures for survival. A suspenseful, yet darkly humorous chain of events builds to a blood-curdling and unforgettable climax.”

Crawl is the debut feature film from twin brothers Paul (Writer/Director) and Benjamin (Producer) China. Renowned cinematographer Brian Breheny (The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, The Hard Word) not only shot the picture, but also produced. John Scott, acclaimed editor of Little Fish, Sexy Beast and The Quiet American, cut the film as well as editor Bin Li (The Way Back, Mao’s Last Dancer). AFI award-winning composer, Christopher Gordon (Mao’s Last Dancer, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Daybreakers), scored original music for the film.

Aspiring Genre Movie Directors Invited to Submit Their Nearly Complete Projects!

Bloody Disgusting, in association with leading entertainment management and production company, The Collective, announced a film finishing fund created to provide promising genre filmmakers with the financial resources needed to complete their independent films. Selected movies will receive up to $100,000 in funds and filmmakers will also be provided the opportunity for distribution through the Bloody Disgusting Selects brand of horror films, which includes cult favorites Rammbock: Berlin Undead, The Woman and YellowBrickRoad.

The submission period is rolling and information and forms can be downloaded HERE.

Optimal film candidates for selection will be nearly finished and feature length (70-110 minutes). Awarded funds would be designated for post-production needs including sound mixing, scoring, securing music rights, color grading, computer graphics, editing visual effects, or other post-production needs. Film submissions should fall into the horror, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, slasher, cult, fantasy, supernatural or found footage categories.

“We are very excited to support the next generation of talented independent filmmakers who are creating work outside of the Hollywood system. We believe this new breed of filmmakers are the future of genre filmmaking,” said Gary Binkow, Partner at The Collective.

The film finishing fund is launching on the heels of the success of another Bloody Disgusting produced feature, V/H/S. Prospective films chosen to receive finishing funds, such as financing, would be contingent on Bloody Disgusting and The Collective participating in its ownership, distribution and marketing. Arriving on DVD and VOD April 3 as part of the Bloody Disgusting Selects series is the post-apocalyptic comedy Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass.

“The story centers on a man suffering from amnesia who wakes up inside a cryogenic freezer as a robotic voice bombards him with information about World War III.”

We’ve just now added four exclusive images to our image gallery, along with an excluisve clip after the jump. You can also now pre-order the flick, which reminds me of a feature version of “Fallout”, over on Amazon.

Montreal-based director Pat Tremblay wrote, directed and played the titular character in Hellacious along with editing, co-scoring and creating most of the visual effects. Cast includes Navin Pratap, Jamie Abrams, Paula J. Davis, Laurent Lecompte and Francis Dubois. Directed and written by Franck Richard, the French ghoul pic will street via DVD and Digital on March 6.

“ ‘The Pack’ follows Charlotte (Emilie Dequenne), a beautiful but rough around the edges kind of girl, who drives a beat-up station wagon in the countryside of northern France. Her journey takes a turn when she picks up a mysterious hitchhiker (Benjamine Biolay), with whom she strikes an unusual bond. Stopping at a roadside diner, her new companion strangely disappears, and Charlotte finds herself knocked unconscious and held captive. She soon encounters a peculiar and disturbed woman, La Spack, (Yolande Moreau), and discovers that her blood is being used to feed a “pack” of flesh-eating ghouls.”
