Metal band Devildriver has announced that they will be releasing their new album Winter Kills on August 27th via Napalm Records. The follow up to 2011′s Beast, Winter Kills will be produced by Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), who tackled the aforementioned Beast as well as their album The Last Kind Words.
Singer Dez Fafara states, “This is by far Devildriver’s most cohesive, powerful, groove laden record to date! We delivered our signature California Groove sound alongside a Raw and Biting guitar tone, mixed it with massive hooks, added in thunderous drums to rethink, and reshape another different sounding unique piece of Rock-N-Roll! Cutting our own path is something to be proud of. Devildriver has always and will forever be about thinking outside the box and delivering on something different from record to record, we cannot be assimilated into any scene or even genre of Metal and we will continue to do things our own way with a massive middle finger in the air to the status quo!”

Devildriver will be hitting the road this fall on an almost two-month schedule that will see them supporting GWAR as well as striking out on some of their own headline dates. The band will be using this as the last tour in support of 2011′s Beast.
Singer Dez Fafara comments, “DEVILDRIVER was going to take some time off from our touring schedule in October and November, but when we were asked to support GWAR, it was a resounding YES in our Camp! The GWAR tour we did is still the most fun the band and I have ever had on a run and we are all excited and looking forward to these shows. Our crowds go together well and it will be Halloween Season so it seems appropriate and fitting we should be out on the road at this time and with a timeless act like The All Mighty GWAR! HAIL to the Devils Duo about to ride together again!!!”
Devildriver have recently signed to Napalm Records and anticipate that their debut record with that label will be out in 2014.
Having seen Devildriver open up for GWAR several years ago, I can 100% attest to the ridiculous amounts of fun I had at that line-up. I HIGHLY recommend that you check out this tour if it comes through your neck of the woods. Check below for tour dates to see if that is the case. READ MORE
Playing as part of this month’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, we’ve landed some super cool images from a new horror out of Denmark.
From director Christoffer Boe comes Beast, which originally had its premiere at last arch’s SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
Nicolas Bro, Marijana Jankovic and Nikolaj Lie Kaas star in this disturbing and poetic nightmare drama that treats Love as both a force of nature and a chemical imbalance.
“Bruno loves his wife Maxine, but his love and body are slowly undergoing a transformation. Something is beginning to stir inside him and there is nothing he can do to stop it. Because when you first delve into the dark side of love to find power, aggression and hatred, there is no turning back.”
If there is one thing I’ve noticed about you BD Music readers, it’s that you’re big fans of DevilDriver. I’m in 100% agreement as the band kicks all sorts of ass! Well, don’t think I don’t pay attention to you all because BD Music has just scored the exclusive premiere of the new DevilDriver lyric video for You Make Me Sick! Looking like it belongs during the opening credits of Se7en, this video oozes grime, filth and violence, much like the song itself.
