Iron Maiden Introduces Their Own Beer, ‘Trooper Ale’

Legendary metal band Iron Maiden have teamed up with Cheshire brewers Robinsons to create a new beer entitled “Trooper”, a 4.7% British ale. The beer will be available for purchase by both UK residents and overseas customers in May of this year via the Iron Maiden Beer website.

Oliver Robinson, managing director of Robinsons, said, “This collaboration — between two huge British success stories — makes for an ideal and natural match; Bruce Dickinson loves his real ale, and Robinsons Brewery is one of Britain’s most established and respected independent family-owned brewers.

Dickinson added, “I’m a lifelong fan of traditional English ale; I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when we were asked to create our own beer. I have to say that I was very nervous: Robinsons are the only people I have had to audition for in 30 years. Their magic has been to create the alchemical wedding of flavor and texture that is Trooper. I love it.

A video of singer Bruce Dickinson explaining how Robinsons was chosen as well as him touring the factory can be seen below. READ MORE

Slayer Condoms, Clutch AND Amon Amarth Beers

God I love seeing bands put out ridiculous things for sale. I actually find it really funny that Kiss has a coffin, I really do. So it makes me overjoyed when I see more ridiculous objects coming out from bands. I’ll start off this article with rock band Clutch, who have teamed up with New Belgian Brewing to make a 9% ABV dark sour ale. Based on the description on the New Belgian Brewing website (21+ only), this beer sounds DELICIOUS.

Check after the jump for more ridiculous commercialism at work!
