Kimberly Peirce is officially behind the camera for Carrie, the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s coming-of-age novella. The MGM/Screen Gems stars Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass, Let Me in), Julianne Moore (Hannibal), Alex Russell (Chronicle), Ansel Elgort, Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers), Judy Greer (The Descendants) and Portia Doubleday (Youth In Revolt).
Principal photography started last month Toronto, Ontario and some behind the scenes footage was just released that shows Peirce directing Moretz as Carrie. The footage gives us look at the popular girls of the high school emerging from the locker room during swim class and Carrie’s reaction to (and confrontation with) them. If anything, it’s a tiny glimpse into the dynamic at play between our heroine and her tormentors (one of them asks her to “wipe that smile off your face.”) Thanks to FreddyKrueger13 for the heads up.
In the film, “The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”

The video game industry has grown exponentially over time, and it’s only going to get bigger. In a poll I made up right now some people would argue that the video game industry has grown to be even bigger than the movie industry. Bringing in billions and billions a year, over the past 10 years the gaming industry is seeing much more people from movies and tv making the cross platform jump into working on video games. Call Of Duty: Black Ops II is no exception. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame scored the theme song for the game. David S. Goyer who helped write the original Black Ops as well as the Batman Begins series is again writing Black Ops II. Check out the featurette video below where David, Trent, and the games Devs talk about Black Ops II.
Call of Duty Black Ops II will be released November 12th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
Rob Zombie will hopefully be premiering the trailer for The Lords of Salem or making an announcement regarding its release any day now (or any month now). But in the meantime, for those starving for anything Salem, there’s some fly-on-the-wall video from the film’s set that hints that Maria Conchita Alonso’s character might be some kind of (dark and weird) painter.
“The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.”
Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, Bruce Davidson, Christopher Knight, Michael Berryman and Sid Haig all star.
With a series like Call Of Duty, you really have to step things up from game to game to keep things fresh. With a game being released every year the series can get stale fast. So Treyarch is bring you the the future in Blops II and I couldn’t be more excited. It actually looks like they are doing quite a bit of re-hauling to set the game apart from past Call Of Duty games. A big part of that at least for me is zombies mode is definitely making a big comeback. Head past the break to see a behind the scenes video to show you what it’s all about.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m soooo looking forward to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus that I can barely stand it. I can’t wait to see the film. Cannot. Wait. However, there’s only so many featurettes we need, right? This one has some really cool new stuff in it along with a bunch of behind the scenes footage, but you’re probably already in the bag for this movie. I know I am. We will continue to present a lot of this stuff to you – but I’m treating everything from here on out with a “view at your own peril” attitude. There’s no real spoilers here, it just depends on how saturated you want to be beforehand.
Prometheus is in theaters June 8th. As cool as this video is, I understand if you want to wait until after you’ve seen the movie to check it out.
So the third season of The Walking Dead has been shooting for a week or two and we already have a video from the set featuring a bunch of behind-the-scenes shots and interviews with the cast and creative team. The Governor, Michonne and more are disgussed and we get to see a decent amount of gore. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of the show – you don’t want to miss this.
The show, “tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.”
Much like how rainbows fly from the open wounds you inflict on the hordes of undead in the next month’s Lollipop Chainsaw, the game itself has a soft, romantic center hidden under all that blood and rock and roll. It’s kind of like TJ–beneath that bloodied, brutish exterior lies a kind young boy just waiting for someone to come and give him a big hug. In case you were wondering how the hell they managed to mix lollipops, rainbows, cheerleaders and romance with zombies, gore, chainsaws and severed limbs, this new featurette could answer some of your burning questions. I had a burning question once, but I got some ointment and it cleared up after a few weeks. Anyway, head past the break for a new behind the scenes featurette! READ MORE
HBO knows how die-hard fans of “True Blood” are. They acknowledge that 9 months is a long time to go without your fix of vampires and sex (or wolves and sex, or faeries and sex). To that end, there’s a new behind the scenes clip to help tide you over. It’s appropriately titled “Waiting Sucks”.
“Mixing romance, suspense, mystery, and humor, the Emmy-nominated show takes place at a time when vampires have come out of the coffin and follows the on-and-off romance between waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Moyer).”
“True Blood” is set to return on Sunday, June 10 at 9/8c. The show’s fifth season will contain 12 episodes and will be the last season of the program overseen by show runner Alan Ball.

I JUST finished Darksiders. Needless to say, it was a blast and I can’t effing wait for Darksiders II to be released. The video below gives you an awesome look in Death’s world in the second game. Also, his horse has green sweet as hell flames. Also, it looks as if you’re getting your horse a bit earlier on in Darksiders II. Which is awesome because I did way wayyyy too much walking in the 1st game. It also looks like the sequel’s world will be on a much larger scale.
I’m hoping Darksiders 5 will be a full on 4 player co-op all 4 horsemen going nutso awesome style crazy balls. And a horde mode plz? Darksiders II is coming out June 26th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE

Paco Plaza’s [REC] 3 Genesis, which just premiered at the SXSW Film Festival, opens in Spain on March 30th. Mr. Disgusting gave the film a mixed review but perhaps you’re waiting to see it for yourself and are still brimming with anticipation. If so, you may want to take a gander at this behind-the-scenes video. It’s nothing revelatory, but will definitely be of interest to super fans. It’s also not in English, but it doesn’t really feel like it needs to be.
In the film, “Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding.

Halo 4. I can’t fucking wait. I’m a big effin Halo fan. 343 Industries are well on their way to making the biggest best Halo game to date. Looks like they’ve updated just about everything visually. Last year, in a move that stunned and confused fans, Rob Zombie directed a commercial for Woolite. People were left scratching their heads, thinking, “A TV commercial? Really??” Then the commercial came out and everyone understood completely. And now the crew behind the spot wants to show you what exactly went into creating that eerie, horror-rific ad. Check it out below!
Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich’s The Devil’s Carnival will be four-walled and taken on the road, Repo style, later this year. But you can get a sneak peek right now.
Bill Mosely, Slipknot’s The Clown, Ivan Moody, Briana Evigan, J. Larose, Alexa Vega, Ogre, Paul Sorvino, Marc Senter, and Sean Patrick Flannery and I’m sure tons of others star in this 45-minute experimental short about a carnival run by the devil.
Recently the folks at Inside Horror visited the set and they resurfaced with this brief behind the scenes look and chat with director Darren Lynn Bousman.
Darksiders is one of those games I really wanted to play but just never got around to it. I’ll get there someday, hopefully before the release of Darksiders II sometime this year. In the sequel you will be playing as Death. Definitely the most well known of the 4 horsemen. Also the most differently portrayed.
CBS Films is celebrating Friday the 13th with a new behind the scenes video from The Woman in Black, Hammer Films’ latest horror production that opens in theaters February 3.

Remember Universal’s The Thing remake? Yeah, I forgot about it too, at least until I started work on my worst of 2011 list being featured later this month. One of the biggest faux pas in the Strike Entertainment prequel/redo was that the film featured an insane amount of CGI. Much like DreamWorks’ Fright Night 3D, it was rumored that the CGI was used to mask a lot of practical work.
Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc., the company behind the visual effects in the creature feature, has uploaded a new video that proves without a shadow of doubt that there should have been a lot more practical effects. Are you ready to have your mind blown? Are you ready to turn red in rage? Are you ready to finally admit that the prequelmake is a piece of sh*t? You will in about 5 minutes…
The Thing arrives on Blu-ray January 31, no word on if this will be included in the extras. READ MORE
