Let’s Do A Timeline Of The New Between The Buried And Me Music Video For “Astral Body”

Between The Buried And Me have released a music video for “Astral Body” that comes off their upcoming album The Parallax II: Future Sequence (pre-order here), which comes out Oct. 9th via Metal Blade Records. The video, which is highly stylized and full of CG landscapes, brought a lot of thoughts into my head and I felt like I should share them with you. Admittedly, they’re a bit scattered but the video kinda did that to me. Check out my thoughts below and lend your theories in the comments! READ MORE

[Premiere] We’ve Got The Teaser For Nekrogoblikon’s “No One Survives”

Readers, mark your calendars for Sept. 4th. On that date, Bloody-Disgusting will be premiering what might be one of the greatest music videos of all time: Nekrogoblikon‘s “No One Survives”. Yeah, I went there. “Big words,” you say? I’m holding firm and standing my ground. I’ve seen more music videos than I care to think about, so I feel pretty confident in this claim. Below is a teaser for the video.

The song comes from Nekrogoblikon’s 2011 album Stench, which you can snag off of Bandcamp (I highly recommend it. It’s loads of fun). You can also follow the band on their official Facebook.

The band will also be playing at the The Grove in Anaheim, CA on Aug. 25th as part of the Summer Slaughter tour, which features Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, and many more. Tickets can be found here. READ MORE

[Exclusive] NSFW Video Premiere For Job For A Cowboy’s “Tarnished Gluttony”

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Metal Blade Records artist Job For A Cowboy to bring you an amazing, intense music video for their song “Tarnished Gluttony”, which comes off their latest album Demonocracy. Directed by Michael Panduro (the man behind the fantastic Cephalic CarnageOhrwurm” video), the video is deceptively subtle, almost poetic. Suddenly, everything changes in one horrific moment. Featuring strong Lovecraft-ian elements, this music video is definitely NSFW, so take heed and be careful where you watch it.

Job For A Cowboy are currently on tour on the Summer Slaughter Festival. Remaining tour dates are below. READ MORE

Between The Buried And Me Discuss New Album

Metal Blade Records artist Between The Buried And Me will be releasing The Parallax II: Full Sequence, their seventh full-length studio album, on October 9th. Jamie King, friend of the band and producer, engineered, mixed, and mastered the album while Chandler Owen has taken care of the artwork.

The album is a continuation of the story of their 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep. Guitarist Paul Waggoner further explains, “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn’t be happier with how Future Sequence turned out.”

Job For A Cowboy Bassist To Miss Several Summer Slaughter Dates

Nick Schendzielos, bassist of Job For A Cowboy, will be forced to sit out the first few weeks of the Summer Slaughter Tour due to his girlfriend being involved in a head-on collision on her scooter. Mike “Gunface” McKenzie from The Red Chord will be taking his place during that time. All tour dates for the festival, which is headlined by Cannibal Corpse and features bands such as Periphery, Between The Buried and Me, The Faceless, and more, can be seen below.

Comments Schendzielos: “Hey friends: On June 28, immediately after landing in Boston to rehearse for Puerto Rico/Summer Slaughter, my girlfriend was in a head-on collision on her scooter. She sustained very serious head and bodily injuries. I flew right home, and we’ve been in the ICU for a week and are still in the hospital to make sure everything is okay. She needs 24/7 supervision for at least two weeks once we get out of here, so I’m very grateful to announce that Gunface from The Red Chord is going to help me out filling in on Summer Slaughter until I can meet back up with it. We love the dude very much and it’s going to be really cool for both JFAC and TRC fans to see. Enormous thanks for understanding this difficult situation and I’ll be back as soon as possible!”

Adds McKenzie: “I’m excited to be playing with JFAC on this tour. Great dudes in this band as well as in the bands on Summer Slaughter. Playing bass is a little different for me but definitely an interesting challenge. I’m definitely looking forward to getting out on the road again. Nick’s bass work is incredible and I’m working hard to get all of his parts down. Sending positive vibes out to him and his lady.”

My best wishes go out to Schendzielos’ girlfriend on a speedy recovery. READ MORE

3 Is Back With ‘The Ghost You Gave To Me’

I first saw 3 several years ago opening up for Porcupine Tree. Immediately hooked, I saw them again on the Progressive Nation tour with Dream Theater, Opeth, and Between The Buried And Me. Their album The End Is Begun is still a favorite of mine and one that I highly recommend to people who are interested in getting into some heavy prog.

Well, the official word is out that a new 3 album, The Ghost You Gave To Me, will be coming out in early October. Queue me pitching a tent. In my backyard. God, sometimes you people disappoint me so much.

Architects UK Complete Recording New Album

Since their formation in late 2004, Brighton, England quintet Architects UK have been on a continual ascendancy from the depths of the UK’s metal and hardcore underground to leaders of the scene. The band makes their much anticipated return to North America as part of the “Cool Tour,” which features As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried and Me, Bless the Fall, The Acacia Strain, Cancer Bats and War of Ages. Sam Carter (vocals) further states, “The ‘Cool Tour’ is going to be fucking awesome! I can’t remember the last time I saw a touring package with a line up this crazy so it’s an honor to be a part of it. All the bands are awesome and are totally doing their own thing. So many packages these days put together four or five bands that all sound exactly the same. To find eight bands that all have their own sound and put them together is amazing. Every day is going to be a party for sure so we hope to see you all soon.”
Architects UK just wrapped up the recording process for their new effort with renowned producer Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and look for that to be released early next year. In the meantime, a special reissue of the group’s past two albums, Ruin and Hollow Crown, are going to be made available together on one low priced disc for their upcoming tour, so be sure to pick it up while they are available as these are sure to go fast.

With that being said you could call this an insanely amazing super group. Recently they signed with respectable indie label Equal Vision Records to release the groups first full length album “Asleep Next To Science”.
