Live Freaky! Die Freaky!

“Freaky” tells the tale of a young man (voiced by Billie Joe Armstrong) in the year 3069 who discovers a copy of Vincent Bugliosi and Curt Gentry’s “Helter Skelter,” which described the murders committed in the ’60s by Charles Manson and his followers. Treating the book as a biblical text and adopting Manson as a messiah, the young man preaches a better world through “music, murder and mayhem.”

Green Day had a bit of an up-and-down year in 2012. They released three albums and did some touring. But then, in September, singer/guitarist Billie Joe had a breakdown on stage and ended up going to rehab. As a result, several tour dates had to be cancelled. But now the band is catching up and rescheduling tour dates for a tour in March and April of 2013. You can check out all the dates below (more will be added in early 2013).

Billie Joe Armstrong states, “Dear friends… I just want to thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for the past few months. Green Day Cancel Remaining 2012 Tour Dates, Postpone Early 2013 Dates, AND Move Up Release Of ‘¡Tre!’

Pop punk band Green Day has cancelled their remaining tour dates for 2012 while postponing all early 2013 dates due to ongoing issues with singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong. The cancelled dates will be available for refund at point of purchase while a new set of tour dates will be released shortly for the postponed dates. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at those shows.

Bassist Mike Dirnt states, “Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Because of this situation, the band will be releasing ¡Tre!, the third album in their current trilogy, a month in advance, upping the release date from Jan. 15, 2013 to Dec. 11th, 2012.

Drummer Tré Cool adds, “We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned. If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.

All affected tour dates can be found below. READ MORE

Green Day’s Billie Joe Has A Temper Tantrum: Screams, “I’m Not F*cking Justin Bieber, You Motherf*ckers!”

Update: According to the AP, singer Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to rehab for substance abuse. The band also told AP that their set was not cut short.

On Friday night, at the IHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV (which was also being broadcast live via Yahoo), Green Day frontman Billie Joe lost it when he saw that his band only had one more minute left to perform. And by “lost it”, I mean that he basically had a childish temper tantrum where he swore up a storm (he used the word ‘f*ck’, or a derivation of it, 21 times), smashed his guitar and then threw his microphone across the stage.

The trigger for this was the fact that all bands/performers at the festival had a 25-30 set time allotted. This included No Doubt, Usher, and Bon Jovi, as well as many others. And yet, for some reason, Billie Joe felt that his band deserved a longer set list, claiming that they’ve been around, “…since f*cking nineteen eighty f*cking eight“. Hmmm, Bon Jovi’s first release was 1984, but you don’t hear him whining, do you Billie?

Apparently, Billie Joe wasn’t calm or rational during the show either. Yahoo states that he berated the few people who decided to sit down during their performance (I’d be sitting too), the band premiered a new song entitled “It’s F*ck Time”, and Billie Joe pulled down his pants, revealing his, “…personal grooming habits.”

Read on for my thoughts as well as a video of Billie Joe reverting to a snubbed 4-year old. READ MORE
