Your Guide To The Best Video Game Deals On Cyber Monday

Black Friday is the one day of the year where your chances of getting great deals at your local retailer are about as good as your chances of getting curb-stomped by a fellow shopper on your way to the electronics section. I can understand the allure of getting stuff on the cheap, but as a self-proclaimed geek with alarmingly brittle bones who avoids confrontation like the Bubonic plague, I don’t cherish the idea of fighting my way through a tidal wave of angry shoppers like I’m Brad Pitt in World War Z so I can get an HDTV for half off.

This is where Cyber Monday comes in, because you can get many of those same deals without the hassle of waiting in lines for hours between that guy who obviously hasn’t showered in at least a week and the old lady with the crippled leg who looks sweet but really brought that cane as an instrument to bash your fucking head in the second you put your hands on something she has her Glaucoma riddled eyes on. So if you’re like me and none of the above sounds like a meaningful use of your time, you should definitely read on for all the best video game deals Cyber Monday has to offer.

UPDATE 1: I’ve added deals from Newegg, Xbox Live, and a few more courtesy of Best Buy.

2011 BLACK FRIDAY CHOPPING LIST: BOOKS & COMICS

2011 BLACK FRIDAY CHOPPING LIST: BOOKS & COMICS

2011 was a great year for Books & Comics in a Bloody-Disgusting way. From a surprisingly tender look at the inner emotional workings of a zombie to the return of Clive Barker to his native stomping grounds – there’s no shortage of variety when it comes to the horrific printed page. And a bonus, most of these puppies are pretty cheap and make excellent stocking stuffers to compliment that $300 dollar Predator figure you know you’re buying for your creepy uncle. On the not so cheap side of the prose spectrum are those coffee table books – but they’re well worth it since you’ll probably look at them almost every day until the next Chopping List rolls around. 2011 BLACK FRIDAY CHOPPING LIST: FILMS & TV

It’s that time of year again. While 2011 wasn’t exactly a banner year for horror films it wasn’t terrible either. Even an average year has plenty of merits and we’ve compiled a list of some of the best stuff released on DVD/Blu since the last time the Chopping List rolled around. Occasionally we dip our toes outside of the genre a touch when it comes to extremely violent masked vigilante movies or your last chance in the foreseeable future to pick up the complete adventures of a certain boy wizard (hey, it’s got monsters and sh*t) but we always wade back into the gore eventually. And if you ever wanted a couple of exhaustive looks at Return Of The Living Dead, 2011 is your year.

So, without further ado – here’s the Film/TV portion of our annual Chopping List! Feel free to toss in some of your own ideas into the comment section. READ MORE

2010 BLACK FRIDAY CHOPPING LIST: TOYS & MERCH

We all know those people who seem to have seen every movie and T.V. show, played every video game, and read every book and comic out there (where do they find the time?), and trying to shop for them can make for a frustrating experience. That being said, there are always those off-the-wall items that even the most well-versed horror fanatics haven’t yet gotten their hands on, and that’s where the “Toys & Merchandise” section of B-D’s Black Friday Chopping List comes in. Along with the latest in toys and decorative figurines, you’ll also find such oddities as specialized license plates, zombie-themed Zippo lighters, and even real embalmed mice made into Christmas tree ornaments. Seriously.
