[Album Review] Black Veil Brides ‘Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones’

I’ll be the first to admit that the visual aesthetic of Black Veil Brides is a bit of a turn off for me. The whole “goth glam rock” just brings up feelings in me that can best be described as “Ugh…” However, one of the benefits of listening to an album is that I am not hit with visuals and I can simply focus on audio.

So, with that distraction aside, I turned to the newest BVB album Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones. I sat back, cranked up the volume and dove in. Read on for my thoughts. READ MORE

Twisted Music Video Of The Week Vol. 53: Heaven’s Basement “Fire, Fire” [Free MP3]

I…I hear something. It’s close but I can’t see where it is. Is it…could it be? Oh, dear god! It is! It’s another Twisted Music Video Of The Week!

This week I’m bring you a band called Heaven’s Basement and their video for “Fire, Fire”, which comes off the upcoming debut album Filthy Empire. The album, which has no set release date aside from “early 2013″ and will be released via Red Bull Records, was produced by John Feldman (The Used, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides). The video shows the band rocking out in front of a pile of tires (correction: a HUGE pile of tires) while clips of actual riots, forest fires, explosions, floods, and more are interspersed. You can check out the video below.

The song is pretty damn awesome. It’s a catchy “arena hard rock” track that hearkens back to days when a hard rock song was just plain old fun. You can also download the song for free by ‘Liking’ the band’s Official Facebook page here. READ MORE

[Original] Why The Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show Isn’t Helping Metal

On April 11th, the Revolver Golden Gods took place, giving praise and recognition to the rock and metal community. Famous musicians, such as Dee Snider, Chris Jericho, Gene Simmons, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Amy Lee, and many more, were in attendance. It was a night meant to not only celebrate the achievements of rock and metal musicians and their offerings, but it was also a night for the fans, a way to honor their passion and their love. And it was a night that did absolutely nothing to spread the word and the importance of rock and metal. READ MORE

Black Veil Brides Release Video For ‘Rebel Love Song’

bvbband2011 Black Veil Brides Release Video For Rebel Love Song
Black Veil Brides have released a video for Rebel Love Song, which comes off their latest album Set The World On Fire. Basically the tale of a mand and woman in love, the video also mixes in shots of the band rocking out in front of a Fox Theater with some mightily pointy guitars.
The band is also going to be embarking on a short US tour with support coming from Falling In Reverse, Aiden, and Drive A.

Black Veil Brides Release Video For The Legacy

Like ‘em or not, Black Veil Brides are getting bigger and bigger. Personally, I’m not a fan but I can see how they fit into the Hot Topic scene (which is f*cking enormous). Honestly, they’re not too shabby when it comes to hard rock. Nothing to write home about but nothing that makes me want to shoot a baby panda in the face. However, what is the need for their look? Is all that make-up and leather really necessary? It’s like Marilyn Manson and Rob Halford popped out some children and BVB was born.

Anyways, after the jump you can watch their latest video for The Legacy, which comes off their upcoming album Set The World On Fire, out June 14th. My biggest issue with this song is that singer Andy Biersack’s vocals stand out in the mix. They actually remind me of Shakira‘s Hips Don’t Lie, where it sounded like she was ten feet in front of the music. Also, Andy’s vocals seem really dry and plain. I’m not saying that they should be saturated in effects, but a little reverb and perhaps a touch of delay wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Answers so far are overwhelming for Asking Alexandria, Sum 41, and Black Veil Brides. However, the top pick is the Scream favorite, ‘Red Right Hand’ by Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, which has been in each of the films so far.

The Birthday Massacre Co-Headline Tour With Black Veil Brides

Hollywood’s standout theatrical rockers, Black Veil Brides and Toronto’s most visually stunning and musically exciting band, The Birthday Massacre (review HERE), will team up to melt faces across the United States on a twenty city co-headlining tour this fall. They’ll be making stops in Atlanta, Houston, Anaheim and Seattle. Currently headlining shows throughout the US on their “Entertainment or Death” tour, the Black Veil Brides are riding high on the success of their chart topping debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, which came in at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Billboard Independent at the time of album’s release. Currently headlining a UK tour as well as a coming off a successful East Coast sweep, The Birthday Massacre have been reaping heaps of critical praise for their recently released fourth album Pins and Needles on Metropolis Records which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Supporting acts on the tour will be Dommin and Aural Vampire.
Black Veil Brides was formed in 2006 when 15-year-old vocalist, Andy Six, began seeking players to create a vision of a modern day heavy metal band, combining the theatrics and passion of Misfits, Motley Crue, and Kiss, with lyrical content that pertains to the downtrodden outcasts of society. With a goal of bringing back the community and passion that was once so prevalent in rock and roll, he moved to LA in 2009 recruiting Ashley Purdy (bass), Jinxx (guitar), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), and Christian Coma (drums). With passionate hook-laden instrumentals and lyrics of hope and strength, Black Veil Brides quickly gained a dedicated following of fans averaging over 10,000 plays a day on the band’s MySpace and 13 million views of their first video for their single, “Knives and Pens”.
