Unfortunately, she is now a far too easy prey for local hunter, successful country lawyer and seriously disturbed family man Christopher Cleek. With his twisted set of ideals, Cleek decides to embark upon a deranged project – to capture her and “break” The Woman – a decision that will soon threaten the lives of Cleek, his family and The Woman. Bloody Disgusting is pleased to announce the U.S. acquisition of John Geddes’ post-apocalyptic Exit Humanity for DVD and VOD release as part of its Bloody Disgusting Selects film series.

It portrays a young man’s struggle to survive in the aftermath of an undead outbreak during the American Civil War. Heavily inspired by classic films such as Jeremiah Johnson and The Outlaw Josey Wales, Exit Humanity is a poetic tale told through the journal entries of its protagonist Edward Young.

The Canadian feature blends live-action and animation to explore deeper themes of fear, hope, redemption, and evil.

Starring horror icons Bill Moseley (Devil’s Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses), Dee Wallace (E.T., Cujo), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, The Watchmen, 300), and new horror hero Mark Gibson, Exit Humanity is a zombie saga that tells the tale of the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. Brian Cox provides narration.

[BD Selects] Rammbock Takes German Top Editing Award!

Some pretty exciting news here on BD as Silke Olthoff took top honors at this year’s Schnitt Awards for her editing of Marvin Kren’s Berlin zombie movie Rammbock: Berlin Undead, the Bloody Disgusting Selects flick that’s now available on DVD and VOD.

The jury, which included last year’s Schnitt winner Monika Willi (The White Ribbon), praised Olthoff’s successful splicing of the horror and romance genres. “The zombie invasion is terrifyingly believable while the love story truly touching,” the jury said in a statement. “Both strands hold and build tension until the (film’s) finale.” READ MORE

We scored some new art for Lucky McKee’s The Woman that’s being used for international sales at this ongoing AFM in Santa Monica.

“The story follows a successful country lawyer who captures and attempts to “civilize” the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast in the wild for decades, thereby putting the lives of his family in extreme jeopardy.”

Starring Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers and Angela Bettis, the film prompted furious debates and walkouts during its world premiere in the Park City at Midnight program at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Reports surfaced of people becoming sick while watching the graphic scenes and one irate Sundance audience member went so far as to say THE WOMAN “ought to be confiscated, burned. The 37 hours of found footage follow Cristian and July Quintanilla passing time at their summer home by investigating a terrifying and mysterious urban legend. As their investigation intensifies, strange occurrences in and around the house escalate rapidly, culminating finally in unspeakable atrocities.”

Sweden is slowly becoming a cesspool for horror bringing us awesome genre flicks like Let the Right One In and Frostbiten. The latest deep freeze horror comes out of the ongoing Film 4 FrightFest as Bloody Disgusting Selects has acquired North American rights to Blood Runs Cold for DVD and VOD release!

Directed by Sonny Laguna, the film portrays an artist looking to get away from her stressful life who rents a house in her hometown in the Swedish countryside, only to find out it is not as empty as she assumed. It stars Hanna Oldenburg, , Patrick Saxe, Andreas Rylander, Elin Hugoson, and Ralf Beck.

Shot outside Stokholm in subzero temperatures in the winter of 2010 , the film premieres at the Film 4 FrightFest in London August 25th-29th, and made its sales premiere at this years’ Cannes market.

With a full trailer coming in the next few days, inside you’ll now find the official UK quad for Lucky McKee’s The Woman (review), which will arrive in limited AMC theaters on October 14 from Bloody Disgusting Selects.

The Woman, from McKee and horror writer Jack Ketchum, is the most controversial film of the year starring Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers and Angela Bettis. The Woman, a companion piece to Ketchum’s Offspring, was the center of controversy at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival when an audience member got worked up over its graphic content and said it should be “confiscated and burned.”

With a full trailer coming in the next few days, inside you’ll now find the official theatrical one sheet for Lucky McKee’s The Woman (review), which will arrive in limited AMC theaters on October 14 from Bloody Disgusting Selects.

The Woman, from McKee and horror writer Jack Ketchum, is the most controversial film of the year starring Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers and Angela Bettis. The Woman, a companion piece to Ketchum’s Offspring, was the center of controversy at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival when an audience member got worked up over its graphic content and said it should be “confiscated and burned.”

Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin has written up another awesome movie review. This time, he tackles Bloody-Disgusting Selects Atrocious, which will be in theaters August 17th – 26th. The Spanish found footage horror film details the last five days of Cristian Quintanilla and his siblings and the unnatural circumstances they encountered.

Godsmack just finished co-headlining the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival and has several more tour dates lined up for the rest of summer and the beginning of fall.
