Finally!!! The Official Trailer For The ‘Evil Dead’ Remake!!!

We got a shaky, blurry look at Fede Alvarez’s hotly anticipated Evil Dead remake earlier this month. While it was blurry and shaky due to its bootleg nature it revealed one thing – that the film will be supremely gory!!! And now, we have a clear look at the film. Bonus? Still super gory! And it uses the low-roving shots that we all know and love. Despite the more polished look, it feels very much like an Evil Dead movie to me. Specifically the first one, where it was five people and it wasn’t just about Ash!

In the remake starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore, Jessica Lucas and Bruce Campbell, “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Check out the official website and Facebook page. The Book of the Dead is opened on April 12, 2013. Head inside for the trailer! But beware – it’s red band. Might be too gory for your workplace! READ MORE

More Pics Of ‘Carrie’ Before And After Her Blood Drenching

Now filming in Toronto, Canada is Sony Screen Gems’ remake of Carrie, which has Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) in the director’s chair.

Last week we shared the first pics, which featured Chloe Moretz in one of Carrie‘s most iconic moments as well as a look at Julianne Moore in character as Margaret White. Now we have some new on set images via Just Jared that show Carrie before her blood drenching and then headed out in her rampage covered in the stuff.

The film also stars Judy Greer (The Descendants), Alex Russell (Chronicle), Gabriella Wilde and Portia Doubleday. Carrie tells the supernatural tale of a telekinetic teenage girl tormented by her peers. “The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter, Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.” Brian De Palma’s 1976 film version of Carrie earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.

Head inside for the pics! Carrie is slated for a March 13, 2013 theatrical release. READ MORE

The Evil Dead Cabin 1981
Interview

The ‘Evil Dead’ Remake Is At Least An R, “So Bloody It Will Make Your Head Spin”

Director Fede Alvarez recently wrapped up photography on Evil Dead, FilmDistrict and Ghost House Pictures’ remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult-hit horror classic, that was shot in Auckland, New Zealand. The film was written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues (with a polish by Diablo Cody) is produced by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man); Rob Tapert (30 Days of Night) and Bruce Campbell who played the popular Ash character in the original trilogy. The film is due in theaters on April 12th, 2013.

I know a bunch of you guys are worried about how legit this movie is – but I think this quote from Raimi himself can help put that to bed. He told Collider, “It’s really bloody. It’s so bloody, it will make your head spin. I’ve seen almost all the dailies and they’re really going for it. It’s gonna be grisly and intense and non-stop.” Does that mean it will have to be R-rated then? “Definitely R. Maybe worse.

I was onset recently and while I can’t say much – I don’t think you should worry either. Head inside for more (including a minor update on the Poltergeist remake)! READ MORE

[OMFG] ‘Gnomes Attack!’ Aussie Police!

 [OMFG] Gnomes Attack! Aussie Police!

While Robert Zemeckis could direct How To Survive A Garden Gnome Attack for Sony Pictures Animation, Australian production house Screen Invaders is beating them to the punch.

Joel Kohn directs the upcoming Aussie horrorGnomes Attack!, which has been attempting to go viral for the past few months. We just now landed the teaser trailer is shot from the perspective of a police cam and gives us a pretty hefty taste of what we’ll see come 2013. I’m still trying to decide if it’s supposed to be a comedy or if it’s dead-pan serious. I hope Kohn plays it straight… READ MORE

OMFG of the Day: WTF is ‘Adam Chaplin’?!

Update: The film wil be available this summer.

Raise your hand if you’re a fan of Fist of the North Star?

Blasting its way out of left field is Emanuele De Santi’s Adam Chaplin, an indie genre film that mixes the extreme action of the anime cartoons, with the realism of a horror movie. Set to screen at the 2011 Bram Stoker Film Fest, this outrageously gory revenge flick is already available on DVD at the film’s official website.

Why would you buy it you ask? Why don’t you save the questions until after you’ve watched the below montage of footage and gruesome first clip. There’s blood – lots of it. There’s violence – lot’s of it. There’s pretty much nothing but pure awesome that’s going to shatter your brain. While I write this story, I keep thinking to myself: “I wish I’d just shut up and hit “submit” so I can go forth and order said DVD.” And that I shall do.

The film, set in an unreal country called Heaven Valley, tells the story of a man, Adam, whom after the death of his wife – occurred in suspicious circumstances- begins to investigate on her murder, discovering the involvement of the local mafia boss: Denny Richards Unable to trust the police, clearly corrupted and controlled by Danny, Adam destroyed by his anger, summons a demon who will give him a superhuman strength and dark powers. The demon will follow him during his trip, promising to lead Adam to the murderer if he does everything he asks. This unleash a bloody war that will bring Adam, deployed with the demon on his side; and the police corp with all its dark allies, on the other. Denny infact, supported by his two sadistic sons Ben and Derek, will also enrol an hired killer. The fight can start… and it will be extreme!
