The pic follows an American family on vacation in Africa who become lost in a game reserve and stalked by lions.

Worst Nightmares

“Nightmares” tells of a serial killer who knocks off his victims based on what their particular fear is – be it a fear of drowning, a fear of heights, etc.

The story centres on Pulitzer Prize winning author Tom Nolan, who is lured into a trap to incriminate himself in the death of six murder victims who appear to be identical to the victims from his latest best seller, who all mysteriously die by means of their own Worst Nightmare. A copycat killer or something more sinister? A serial killer has set up a diabolical plan, via an internet site, www.worstnightmares.com, to exact his private revenge on each of the victims while settling an old score with Tom, ultimately stealing his wife and his life while subjecting him to his very own worst nightmare.

Battle: Los Angeles

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.

The “Real” Battle of Los Angeles, Experts Reflect on Anniversary of “Sighting”

In anticipation of the March 11th release of Columbia Pictures’ Battle: Los Angeles, a film about the efforts of a team of military personnel to thwart an alien invasion in the City of Angels, the studio recently staged a press conference with a group of “UFO experts” to talk about both the real Battle of Los Angeles – an intriguing, little-known event that took place in the skies above Santa Monica on February 24th and 25th, 1942 (can you say “anniversary“?) – as well as their own anecdotal experiences with UFO phenomena. See inside for the full story, as related by B-D reporter Chris Eggertsen.

A Viral I’d Die to See With My Own Eyes: ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Ships Appear!

A viral video has appeared online for Columbia Pictures’ Battle: Los Angeles that depicts a giant UFO above the 110 freeway in Los Angeles. If this were actually flying in the Los Angeles skyline, I would be driving 100mph just to see it live. Man, this is so only 50% of the greatest viral stunt ever. Can you imagine the panic if this were actually viewable?

New ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Channels ‘Gears of War’ for Inspiration

March 11th can’t get here soon enough. Previously, Columbia Pictures has released two awesome trailers for Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, and we’ve seen even more extraordinary “real life” images from which the movie is based on — but what we’ve yet to see are some truly off-the-charts awesome images. This morning Empire scored a look at two new stills that look straight out of the “Gears of War” video game. Awesome is an understatement. In addition, inside you’ll find a new international poster that continues the theme of the alien “arrival”, courtesy of IMP Awards.

Beware the “Foot” in First ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Alien Images!

With any alien invasion movie the one question that always stands tall is “what do the creatures look like?” I was kinda hoping to keep my eyes E.T. virgins until March 11 when Columbia Pictures releases Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles — so much for that.

A new issue of Famous Monsters goes behind-the-scenes of the creation of “alien foot soldiers” with FX house Spectral Motion. If you want to see some heavy spoilers, take a trip indie and enjoy! I can only wonder if these are just some of the “smaller” aliens… what else does Liebesman have up his sleeve?

And seriously, how cool is it that this is kinda based on true events?

Second Action-Packed Trailer for ‘Battle: Los Angeles’

My most-anticipated of 2011 list is short, but it does begin with Texas Chainsaw Massacre director Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, his alien invasion war flick arriving in theaters March 11. Columbia Pictures has released a second trailer featuring more scares, more aliens and more war. The scariest aspect is that this film is inspired by a true story. Yup. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Peña, for years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Based on True Story?!

My friends and myself have been having fun in the world of conspiracy theories, and this afternoon my buddy Travis sent me this link that details the conspiracy of the 1942 “Battle of Los Angeles”. Doing a little Google search I came across an official Wiki page for the event that writes: “The Battle of Los Angeles, also known as “The Great Los Angeles Air Raid,” is the name given by contemporary sources to the rumored enemy attack and subsequent anti-aircraft artillery barrage which took place from late February 24 to early February 25, 1942 over Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred less than three months after the United States entered World War II as a result of the Japanese Imperial Navy’s attack on Pearl Harbor.” All of the sources display the following newspaper image from the LA Times that is also used on Columbia Pictures’ teaser posters that were posted around this past July’s San Diego Comic Con. So, is Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, which arrives in theaters March 11, actually based on a true story? Do some digging – and you tell me.
