Taking place over a span of 100 hours, a group of people on a bus are attacked by an unidentified monster terrorizing the nearby towns.
This Man
A thriller that has a clever fact-based hook. The protagonist is an ordinary man who discovers that people he has never met have somehow seen him in their nightmares.
Ghost House has acquired rights to a website that was created by Italian sociologist Andrea Natella to connect those who saw the actual man in their dreams.
Mockingbird
The project, formerly known as “Red Balloons,” tells the story a couple, who are given a camera and a set of instructions. They must carry out what’s on the document or someone will die. Stashwick will play the husband, Anderson his wife.
An earlier synopsis Bloody got their hands on went like so: “Found footage thriller centering on three cameras that are given to three separate households on the same night with instructions to keep filming if they want to live, but as the night wears on, the characters are pulled into a deadly confrontation with each other at the behest of their unseen tormentor.“
Producer Marc D. Evans Gives Us An Update On ‘The Strangers 2′
Earlier today I attended the junket for The Raven, the new film by James McTeigue (V For Vendetta) starring John Cusack (Hot Tub Time Machine), Alice Eve (Star Trek 2) and Luke Evans (The Hobbit). As part of the press day I sat down with producers Aaron Ryder (The Prestige) and Marc D. Evans (The Strangers).
While I’ll post my entire interview with the pair sometime in the coming weeks, I figured I’d go ahead and offer up the following exchange that occurred when I asked Evans about The Strangers 2. Previously Laurent Briet had been the rumored director (as of three years ago), and that still may be the case, but Evans’ comments suggest that something may have changed during the film’s protracted development process.
I have to ask about The Strangers 2.
“Yes. ‘The Strangers 2′. Well, I think that’s been a bit more of a saga than we would have all liked, and it’s a result of companies being sold and moved around and things like that. But the goal is to move that ahead this fall. Relativity and I have a great script that we love and and we’re in the process of putting that together to get it moving.”
Do you have a director yet?
“I can’t say at the moment. I know, but I can’t say. That news will be coming soon, somewhere. We’re very excited to have that move forward and get off the ground. I wish this was the ‘Strangers 3′ at this point, but sometimes things don’t always move at the pace that you’d like.”
Be sure to check out the rest of my interview with them closer to the release of the film. The Raven opens April 27th.
TV: Charity Wakefield Plays Normal Munster In ‘Mockingbird Lane’
British actress Charity Wakefield (pictured below; The Raven) is set to co-star opposite Eddie Izzard in NBC’s “Munsters” reboot “Mockingbird Lane,” reports Deadline.
The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about a family of “monsters” – vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein and their “plain” cousin (Wakefield) — with striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy “Pushing Daisies.”
Wakefield will play Marilyn, Lily’s beautiful niece and the only “normal” Munster (which makes her rather abnormal). Saved from being devoured by her own mother as an infant, she lives with the Munsters but has not inherited any of their special attributes. A college student who believes in good manners and congeniality toward the new neighbors, she regularly clashes with Grandpa (Izzard), but she gets along well with Aunt Lily and Uncle Herman, as well as with her young cousin Eddie. The role of Marilyn was played by Pat Priest in the original series. READ MORE
TV: First Casting For ‘Munsters’ Reboot, ‘Mockingbird Lane’!
Eddie Izzard (Valkyrie, Igor) is the first to be cast in NBC’s “Munsters” reboot as he’ll be moving into “Mockingbird Lane“ as Grandpa in the high profile pilot, reports TVLine.
The role was originated by Al Lewis in classic ’60s version.
The project, which was originally slated to go into production this month but got pushed back until early summer due to casting issues, is being stewarded by “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller and X-Men auteur Bryan Singer. Whereas the original was a comedy, the remake is being billed by NBC as a “visually spectacular one hour drama.”
The project features striking visuals mixed with all the classic “Munsters” archetypes. Grandpa Sam Dracula is essentially Dracula who assembled Herman because no man was good enough for his daughter Lily, a sexy vamp. Lily’s niece Marilyn the freak is actually normal and Lily and Herman’s only child, Eddie, has his werewolf tendencies surface in puberty, forcing the family to relocate to their famous 1313 Mockingbird Lane address. ‘The Strangers’ Director Turns Camera On ‘Mockingbird’ Trio
Todd Stashwick (“Justified,” “Heroes”), Audrey Marie Anderson, and Alexa Lydon (pictured) has been set to star in Mockingbird, the Blumhouse thriller being made by Universal with The Strangers director Bryan Bertino at the helm, THR reports.
The project falls under the micro-budget film label run by Jason Blum; the production banner has a first look deal with Universal. Blum is producing with Adrienne Biddle, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bryan Bertino. Bertino is directing the movie, which will begin shooting April in Los Angeles.
The project, formerly known as “Red Balloons,” tells the story a couple, who are given a camera and a set of instructions. They must carry out what’s on the document or someone will die. Stashwick will play the husband, Anderson his wife. Lydon’s part is unknown.

‘The Strangers’ Director Plays Found Footage Game
Deadline and Shocktillyoudrop pick up another story from the tracking boards reporting that Universal Pictures has completed a pre-holiday acquisition of a spec script written by The Strangers writer/director Bryan Bertino.
Here’s the plot crunch sent around town: “Found footage thriller centering on three cameras that are given to three separate households on the same night with instructions to keep filming if they want to live, but as the night wears on, the characters are pulled into a deadly confrontation with each other at the behest of their unseen tormentor.”
The project was acquired to be produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, and Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions. Bertino and his Unbroken Pictures partner Adrienne Biddle will also be producers. Blum and Platt have term deals at the studio. Blum is producer of the Paranormal Activity films.
Like Paranormal Activity, the Bertino spec was being sent around town under the title Mockingbird, and is based on “found footage.” Bertino is not aboard to direct the film. Blumhouse just wrapped the Rob Zombie-directed The Lords of Salem, as well as the Ethan Hawke-starrer Sinister for Summit Entertainment and is producing the ABC series “The River.” READ MORE

Universal Plays Smart, Preps For ‘Grim Night’
*Update: Universal Pictures acquired rights. I’m very excited and guarantee all other studios will regret missing out.
Suppose the world knew DEATH was coming…
Unbroken Pictures is behind a mind-blowing new project entitled Grim Night, a new “holiday”-inspired horror film that mixes the supernatural with the end of the world was penned by Allen Bey and Brandon Bestenheider, and produced by none other than Bryan Bertino, the man behind The Strangers.
From the promo trailer (a piece of footage used to sell the screenplay, meaning there is no movie just yet) I was able to piece together the plot: “Grim Night” takes place once a year, where Grim Reapers come to Earth to collect souls. The video teases the loss of over 90,000 people thus far.
What’s so incredibly creepy about the promo is that is takes the horror genre out of a contained box and supposes that everyone in the world knows about these demons. It would be as if Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees were real, and everybody knew they were coming. How would the world react to a yearly invasion by Death’s army?
It’s brilliant stuff and can only hope a studio is smart enough to snatch it up and get this sucker immediately into production. What are your thoughts? READ MORE
