Female-fronted hard rock group Stars In Stereo has released an acoustic version of their song “The Broken”. The video can be seen below and you can download a copy of the song here.

The Carolina Rebellion music festival will be headlined this year by Alice In Chains on May 4th and Soundgarden on May 5th. Other acts include Deftones, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Volbeat, and many more. The event will take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
“After wrapping up our last U.S. tour, we were planning on recharging our batteries for awhile, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play with the mighty Soundgarden in what will be one of the only shows we’ll play in the U.S. this year,” says Tim Mcllrath of Rise Against.
Michael Poulsen of Volbeat comments, “In Europe and the U.S., we have enjoyed the experiences that come from being a part of the festival environment, just as the fans do. Looking forward to Carolina Rebellion!”

The line up for the 2013 edition of Rock On The Range has been announced and it’s basically full of bands that I would punch a few puppies to see. Headlining the 3-day event are Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Smashing Pumpkins while amazing bands such as Bush, Stone Sour, Volbeat, Lamb Of God, In Flames, Ghost, Heaven’s Basement, and more are also slated to perform. A nearly complete list of bands performing can be seen below.
The 3-day event begins Friday, Mar. 17th and ends Sunday night, Mar. 19th.
Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell states, “We’re really looking forward to returning to Rock On The Range with a batch of brand new killer Alice tunes to play for everyone!”
Korn’s Jonathan Davis adds, “Head is back!! Rock On The Range is going to start it all off!! Get ready, we are going to hit it hard!!”

Welsh rock band Bullet For My Valentine have released an official music video for “Riot”, which comes off their upcoming fourth studio album Temper, Temper (out Feb. 12th). The album is being produced by Don Gilmore, who worked on the band’s previous release Fever. You can watch the video below.
Personally speaking, I think it’s a pretty terrible song. It’s the same riff from verse to chorus with some dynamic shifts and then an oddly out-of-place guitar solo. READ MORE
AxeWound has released a video for “Cold”, the first single off their upcoming debut album Vultures, which comes out Oct. 2nd via The End Records (pre-order here). The band is comprised of singer/guitarist Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine), singer Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats), drummer Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter), guitarist Mike Kingswood (Glamour Of The Kill), and bassist Joe Copcutt (ex-Rise To Remain). “It was very intense, very demanding but that’s how we wanted it to be,” reasons Tuck. “No pre-writing, no rehearsing… just booking a studio and going in and doing a song a day. We wanted to capture something that happened right there and then.”

We just reported about the upcoming Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which looks to have an awesome line-up no matter which date you attend. Well, for those of you lucky enough to be close to Columbus, Ohio, you’ve got one hell of a two-day festival in store. This year’s Rock on the Range will have some of the biggest names in today’s rock scene headlining including A Perfect Circle (easily my most anticipated show), Alter Bridge, Stone Sour, Korn, Disturbed, Staind, and so many more.
Melbourne, Australia band Sydonia has been tapped to support Korn during their upcoming down under dates. Sydonia will be playing with Korn on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of December, so make sure to check ‘em out while you can. Earlier, Sydonia was personally invited by Randy Blythe to tour Australia with Lamb of God.
Punk band Drive A has supplied Bloody-Disgusting with a very cool video of them rocking out and causing all sorts of shenanigans during their recent tour with Bullet For My Valentine. Drive A will be releasing a new album next year so keep your eyes and ears peeled for news about that. Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive audio interview with Black Tide bassist Zakk Sandler. We spoke about how the tour with Bullet For My Valentine and Escape The Fate was going, horror movie remakes, and the new album. Black Tide just finished recording their follow-up album to 2008′s ‘Light From Above’. The festival, which will be held at Donington, will take place on Friday June 11-Sunday June 13. Hardcore veterans Sick Of It All are ready to release their ninth full length titled “Based On A True Story” on April 20, 2010. It will be released through Century Media and will be the first thing they’ve released of new music since 2006′s “Death To Tyrants”. The band is currently on a European tour with Dropkick Murphys until the beginning of February and will be returning to Europe with AFI in April. No better way to let people down than to hype them up first, Bullet For My Valentine is promising their ‘finest album to date’ which is expected to see a release first half of 2010.
“We are almost in the final stages of recording. It has been another long road but it’s been this long for a reason! There have been many obstacles along the way, lots of hard work and long hours in the studio. However, we think that we will produce Bullet For My Valentine’s finest album to date!!!”
“We have written lots of material and we have narrowed down these songs to what we think are the best of the bunch! There are eight tracks recorded and finished so far, from some of the best stuff we’ve ever written. They have all the qualities that you would expect from Bullet but with ’something’ else. A twist! We are all blown away so far with how everything is going. Don Gilmore is an incredible producer and has really helped us develop our sound.
“We do apologize for how long the album is taking but we need this to be right, and we certainly don’t want to rush things and spoil it for your guys. We will get the album out as soon as possible.
