I had the pleasure to sit down with bassist Nick Schendzielos of Job For A Cowboy and Cephalic Carnage this past Sunday at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival stop in Clarkston, MI. We spoke about the status of a new JFAC album, the future plans for Cephalic Carnage, and how intense, visceral music videos are making a comeback. Check out this exclusive video interview below!
There are a handful of music video directors whom I truly admire and always look forward to seeing their work. Mitch Massie, the man behind “Forced Gender Reassignment“. Phil Mucci, who did Stone Sour‘s “Do Me A Favor“. And then there is Michael Panduro, who directed two music videos that we at Bloody-Disgusting got to premiere: Cephalic Carnage‘s “Ohrwurm” and “Tarnished Gluttony” from Job For A Cowboy.
Panduro’s work always has a very high budget look and is never afraid to go in as close to the meat and bones (pun intended) as necessary, while also having the strength to pull back and expose the entire scene. Then there is the fact that he seems to be able to tackle any story with the same amount of intensity and commitment as any other project. There is a signature to his style, something that makes me able to watch a video and think, “This is definitely done by Michael Panduro.” It’s like hearing a particular guitar tone and knowing right away, even without hearing a single word, “This is [insert band name here].”
And now Michael needs our help. With all the amazing horror-influenced music videos and short films he has produced, Panduro has turned his eye to making Postpartum, a full-length feature horror film that he describes as a “Cronenberg’s “The Brood” mixed with Von Trier’s “Antichrist”“. Panduro has launched an IndieGoGo and some of the perks might very well pique your interest, especially the Postpartum Mixtape, which features tracks from Job For A Cowboy, Cephalic Carnage, Rwake, Saint Vitus, and more.
Head on below for a proof-of-concept for Postpartum as well as the cover art for Postpartum Mixtape. READ MORE
Extreme metal band Job For A Cowboy have announced “The End Of The World” tour, which will see them hitting the road this December. Support will be coming from Cephalic Carnage, I Declare War, and Legion. A special guest has yet to be determined.
Vocalist Jonny Davy says, “Hey guys! We’re very excited to announce our first headlining run in almost two years! This will be an incredible tour with the lineup we’ve put together. We have one more special guest to announce as well as a couple more tricks up our sleeve. Do not miss this tour! It’s going to be a rager!”

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Metal Blade Records artist Job For A Cowboy to bring you an amazing, intense music video for their song “Tarnished Gluttony”, which comes off their latest album Demonocracy. Directed by Michael Panduro (the man behind the fantastic Cephalic Carnage “Ohrwurm” video), the video is deceptively subtle, almost poetic. Suddenly, everything changes in one horrific moment. Featuring strong Lovecraft-ian elements, this music video is definitely NSFW, so take heed and be careful where you watch it.
Job For A Cowboy are currently on tour on the Summer Slaughter Festival. Remaining tour dates are below. READ MORE
For this week’s edition of Twisted Music Video Of The Week we’re bring back a classic that shocked and entertained you BD Music readers endlessly. Yup, I’m talking about the classic Cephalic Carnage video for Ohrwurm! To say that video was a hit is a total understatement. You readers ate it up, spit it out, made your friend eat it, punched them in the stomach so they’d spit it back up, and then you shared it with your grandmother.
Bloody-Disgusting is excited to announce that it is one of the sponsors for the upcoming Exhumed, Goatwhore, Cephalic Carnage, and Havok North American tour! Don’t believe me? How about you enlarge that picture below (just give it a good old click) and look at the bottom. See something familiar? BAM! Looks like we’re helping bring some blood and guts to the fall touring schedule! So, which date are you planning on hitting up?
Swedish prog-metal masters Pain Of Salvation have released a NSFW video for ‘Where It Hurts‘, which comes off their latest album, ‘Road Salt One‘. Watching the video, I was immediately struck by the feeling that I’d seen this video before. It didn’t take long at all to figure out which video I was thinking of (actually, it only took about a minute of watching ‘Where It Hurts‘). Check out the video below and the ‘original’ after the jump.
2010 was the first full year of Bloody-Disgusting Music and it’s been one hell of a ride. We’ve worked hard to bring you readers contests, exclusives, reviews, originals and more, all because of our love of music and horror. For me personally, I’ve gotten to hang out with some of the coolest musicians, listen to great albums and write about what I love. Because of all of this, here is a random list of personal favorites from this year in Bloody Disgusting Music.
Bloody-Disgusting is proud to bring you one of the bloodiest and most disgusting (see what I did there?) videos EVER! What we’ve got here is ‘Ohrwurm’ by the band Cephalic Carnage and directed by Bloody-Disgusting contributor Michael Panduro. This track comes off their album, ‘Misled By Certainty’. I’m going to warn you right now that we’ve age-gated this video and for very good reasons. This video is about as NSFW as you can possibly get and you should probably not eat before viewing.
Having said that, we’ve got a request to make: If you’re brave enough to watch it, film yourself (and your friends if they’re around) watching this video and then send me a link to the reaction video. If you’re confused, just take a look at the ’2 Girls 1 Cup’ reaction videos and that’s what we’re aiming for. We’re gonna put together an article with the 10 best reactions we see and you just might make the cut!
Before I let you hit the jump to check out the video, here are some comments from director and Bloody-Disgusting contributor Michael Panduro:
“This is my third video for a band based on the opposite side of the planet, but it’s the first one where I’ve gone balls in. I applaud Cephalic Carnage for going along on a concept like this and I’m very thankful for the complete freedom I’ve had. Even though this video was shot on a shoestring budget, everybody pitched in more than they had to and I think the final result shows the guts of the actors involved.” READ MORE
Death metal/grind masters Cephalic Carnage have announced the following statement about their new guitarist:
“So yeah yeah old news, but as most of you know Zac [Joe] left the band, but what you don’t know is who our new guitarist is. Please welcome Brian Hopp a.k.a. Legolas to the Cephalic family. He’s got a really sweet bow and arrow, and his guitar playing is almost as good as his archery. We are extremely pleased with his work on the new record, and we think you will be too. Come tickle his chin and give him a pinch on Summer’s Laughter!”
With that being said you have their new full length “Misled By Certainty” to look forward to which is set to come out on August 31. Until then enjoy their video for “Endless Cycle Of Violence” and don’t forget to catch them on the Summer Slaughter tour!
