Enter The Batcave With This ‘Byzantium’ Clip!

Arriving on VOD and in limited theaters June 28 is Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, which was acquired by IFC Films out of the Toronto International Film Festival. I loved the last trailer and this new clip takes a subdued look at the film, still digging the tone though.

Starring Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, Caleb Landry Jones, Danny Mays, Bradley James, Sam Riley, Jonny Lee Miller and Tom Hollander, the pic is about a pair of women who claim to be vampire siblings.

On the run for murder, two young “sisters” arrive penniless at an English seaside town. Clara is a fiercely modern woman who has her eyes on the future and no time for the past. Teenager Eleanor is shy and innocent. Yet they both hide the same secrets: they are really mother and daughter, and they are both … vampires!READ MORE

After Dark Films presents a twisted reality in Dark Circles arriving on DVD, Digital Download and Video on Demand May 21st from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. This supernatural horror film stars Pell James (The Lincoln Lawyer), Johnathon Schaech (That Thing You Do, Prom Night), Jennifer Foreman (Angry Little God) and Philippe Brenninkmeyer (Beerfest). The Dark Circles DVD includes audio commentary with writer/director Paul Soter.

When new parents Alex and Penny retreat from the city and move into a place outside town, the stress and massive sleep-deprivation caused by their infant has both of them seeing things in the house that may or may not exist. Persistent sightings of a strange woman has each of them wondering if they are suffering from hallucinations, or if their new home holds a dark, supernatural presence. As their fragile grasp on reality spirals into delirium, Alex and Penny find themselves nearly helpless to deal with the horrific truth of what is really happening in the house.

We’ve got a new clip that showcases a mild domestic dispute. I love Pell James, and she’s quite good in the film. READ MORE

This Clip From ‘Alyce Kills’ Is In Control Now, B*tch!

I haven’t seen Alyce Kills, the newest BD Selects title from Zombie Strippers director Jay Lee, but I loved the trailer. Since that was so action packed I have to assume this new clip is from one of the more suspenseful, methodically paced, segments of the film – but it’s still got a spooky payoff.

After accidentally knocking her best friend off a roof, Alyce is haunted by guilt and delves into a brutal nightmare wonderland of sex, drugs and violence, her mind tearing itself apart…along with anyone else who gets in her way.

Director Jay Lee takes us down the rabbit hole and unleashes enough chaos and horror to satisfy any gore hound. Alyce Kills stars Tamara Feldman (Hatchet), James Duval (Donnie Darko, Doom Generation), Eddie Rouse (Pandorum), Larry Cedar (The Crazies), Yorgo Constantine (Fast Five), Megan Gallagher (“Millenium”) Rena Owen (Once We Were Warriors), Tracey Walter (Repo Man, Batman), Bret Roberts (May, Nighstalker) and Jade Dornfeld making her film debut as the titular character Alyce.

Alyce Kills takes an unflinching look at a young woman’s struggle to keep it together after tragically killing her best friend. Haunted by guilt, she begins to unravel–losing sleep, losing her job and eventually her sanity. Alyce Kills will be released in select theaters on May 24, 2013. It will be available on Cable VOD in partnership with Tribeca Films and for digital streaming on May 21, 2013. Additional local cable VOD information is available via Tribeca Film On Demand at Bloodydisgustingselects.com/vod.

Revolting Clip From ‘No One Lives’ Is A Lot Of Fun

In select cities – NYC, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, Boston, Detroit, Houston & Baltimore – May 10th is Anchor Bay’s No One Lives, an insanely bloody slasher from Midnight Meat Train‘s Ryuhei Kitamura.

Mr. Disgusting wasn’t fan (read his review), but I sort of admired the film for it s sense of fun and its sheer brutality. This new clip is a pretty good example. If you kill a big guy like Brodus Clay, you can play TaunTaun with him!

A ruthless criminal gang takes a young couple hostage and goes to ground in an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. When the captive girl is killed, the tables are unexpectedly turned. The gang finds themselves outsmarted by an urbane and seasoned killer determined to ensure that no one lives.

The film stars Luke Evans, Lee Tergesen, Adelaide Clemens, Laura Ramsey, Lindsey Shaw, America Olivo, Beau Knapp, Derek Magyar, and Brodus Clay. READ MORE

[TV] Jazzy Video Compilation Of Old “Dexter” Kills

With Season 8 of Showtime’s “Dexter” just around the corner, Showtime has put together a jazzy compilation of the show’s old kills. It’s actually striking to see the Michael C. Hall serial killer back in 2006. Keep in mind, this isn’t every kill, more like a greatest hits.

“Dexter” returns June 30 to Showtime (including Yvonne Strahovski reprising her role on the show) followed by the premiere of “Ray Donovan.”

[Tribeca '13] First Clip From ‘The Machine’ Sliced Open!

The Machine will be world premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday. The film, directed and written by Caradog James (Little White Lies), looks like an intriguing dystopian riff on Frankenstein. We shared some stills the other day and now we have a clip (via Yahoo) that unveils the Machine itself with a surgical razor.

With an impoverished world plunged into a Cold War with a new enemy, Britain’s Ministry of Defense is on the brink of developing a game-changing weapon. Lead scientist Vincent McCarthy (Toby Stephens) provides the answer with his creation, ‘The Machine’- an android with unrivalled physical and processing skills. When a programming glitch causes an early prototype to destroy his lab, McCarthy enlists artificial intelligence expert Ava (Caity Lotz) to help him harness the full potential of a truly conscious fighting machine.” Toby Stephens, Caity Lotz, Denis Lawson, Sam Hazeldine and Pooneh Hajimohammadi all star.

[Random Cool] Every Hitchcock Cameo In One Clip!

Now that those two iffy biopics are out of the way we can concentrate on the most important part of Alfred Hitchock, his films and his legacy. Today we have a supercut (via Retroist)

In fact he made cameos in 39 of his films, stating, “I always give a little thought to my appearances and come on as early as possible– don’t want to hold them in suspense for the wrong reason! I’ve been in all my films on and off. Missed a few. Only cancelled one.

New Clip From ‘The Lords Of Salem’ Teases Key Moment In The Film

This is one of the key moments from Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, and it’s sort of something I’d recommend waiting to see in the complete movie. But if you want it, the clip (via Rolling Stone) is here. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davison, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Geeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice.

From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a “gift from the Lords.” Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the “Lords of Salem” returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?

Here’s Brad’s review out of TIFF, as well as Mike’s more positive take. The Lords Of Salem is in limited theaters (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit) April 19 from Anchor Bay Films.

[TV] Get Sideswiped ByThe “Hemlock Grove” Clip!

Netflix will premiere Hemlock Grove,” from producer Eli Roth (who also directed the pilot), on April 19th. As is Netflix’s business model, all 13 episodes will be made available on the same day. And I have to say, their teasers are getting longer! We’ve gone from 22 seconds, down to 11 seconds – and now we’re back up to 26 seconds. “Hemlock Grove is a riveting one-hour murder mystery that revolves around the residents of a former Pennsylvania steel town. When 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell is brutally murdered, any of Hemlock’s peculiar inhabitants – or killer creatures – could be suspects. Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing nothing is what it seems. Beautiful, terrifying and graphic, Hemlock Grove is unlike anything else in its genre.

Who Gets Rescued First In New ‘This Is The End’ Clip?

Sony Pictures has released a new clip for This is the End, the new apocalypse comedy directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. As ridiculous as it is, as a kid I used to think they would rescue the famous people first in situations like this!

Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz all on this gory horror comedy. Rogen wrote the script with Goldberg. The project is inspired by a short called “Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse” that featured Rogen and Jay Baruchel playing themselves, holed up in an apartment as they dealt with the end of the world.

The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

Something Is Very “The Matter” With This Clip From ‘Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal’

In theaters and on VOD today, April 5 is Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal. Directed by Baran bo Odar, and starring Ulrich Thomsen, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Sebastian Blomberg, Katrin Sass and Burghart Klaussner, we now have a new clip from the film that features a Sheriff interrogating a cannibal and his friend. I haven’t seen this movie, but I’m not sure it’s for me.

When Lars’s art dealer Ronny arranges a teaching job in a small town as a “therapeutic measure” to stir up his creative juices, things don’t quite turn out as planned. At first, life in the peaceful small town seems rosy, as he settles in and impresses beautiful fellow colleague Leslie (Georgina Reilly) by taking in the brawny, mute Eddie (Dylan Smith) after the latter’s caregiver passes away. But Lars soon discovers that the façade of serenity hides something unimaginable: Eddie suffers from a rare form of sleepwalking that transforms him from a docile, cereal-obsessed art student into a ravenous sleepwalkingcannibal. Initially horrified by Eddie’s dark secret, Lars becomes enthralled by the not-so-gentle giant. Exceptional art comes at a very high price…and how far is Lars willing to go for his next masterpiece?

Jody (Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.
