A Second Clip From ‘The Lords Of Salem’ Gets Coughed Up!

A second clip (via EW) has been released from Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, which stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davidson, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Gleeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice. This is actually a more substantial clip than last time, with a good look at – well whatever those things are. Still, I have to say, I’m not yet sold. Thanks to reader DownNola1995 for the heads up!

From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a “gift from the Lords.” Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the “Lords of Salem” returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?

Here’s Brad’s review out of TIFF, as well as Mike’s more positive take. The Lords Of Salem is in limited theaters (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit) April 19 from Anchor Bay Films.

Someone’s Proven Wrong In This “Zombies Don’t Exist” Clip From ‘Mimesis’!

After getting a look the DVD and Blu-ray art for Anchor Bay’s Mimesis last week, we now have a new clip entitled “Zombies Don’t Exist”. Obviously, this is a claim that the clip quickly refutes.

What begins as a horror convention after-party for a group of fans will quickly become a genuine flesh-and-blood nightmare: Trapped inside an isolated farmhouse, they must now survive attacks by hordes of hungry zombies while desperately attempting to escape. But is this gore-soaked siege a twisted prank, an elaborate trap, or has NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD actually come to undead life?< Sid Haig (The Devil’s Rejects) and Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn) star in this award-winning shocker from co-writer/director Douglas Schulze that walks the razorsharp line between edgy homage and depraved reality… then proceeds to rip its guts out.

A Haunted House

New Clip For ‘A Haunted House’ Enacts A Ghostly Beatdown

In theaters January 11 from Open Road Films is Michael Tiddes’ A Haunted House, co-written by and starring Marlon Wayans. Also starring Cedric The Entertainer, David Koechner, Nick Swardson and Essence Atkins. In the Wayans family tradition of successful movies like Scary Movie 1 & 2, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, and, most recently, Dance Flick, Marlon Wayans co-wrote the script for A Haunted House, along with Rick Alvarez, who has produced several Wayans family movies.

In an outrageous send up of the Paranormal Activity movies, The Devil Inside and other “found footage” movies, A Haunted House features young couple Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) who have just moved in to their dream house. As they settle in, they quickly find they’re not alone. But it’s not the house that’s haunted, it’s Malcolm’s girlfriend who is possessed by a demon. Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day ghostbusters to rid her of this unwelcome intruder, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his relationship… or, more importantly, his sex life.

And now there’s a new clip from the film, which – as a heads up – features a ghost getting kicked in the nuts. Head inside to check out it out. READ MORE

Guillermo del Toro Delivers Giant Robots and Monsters In Epic ‘Pacific Rim’ Trailer, Poster!

Warner Bros. has just blasted out the first official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim, and it looks EPIC! I rarely go all-caps like that, but it looks like Del Toro has been given the ultimate sandbox to play in and he built the ultimate castle. Also added in a super sweet teaser banner and official one-sheet.

In the film, “When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

The battle begins on July 12, 2013. Head inside to check it out!! READ MORE

Watch A 6 Minute Clip From ‘The Collection’!!

On November 30 LD Entertainment will open The Collection revealing all of the nasty items within. The film is directed by Marcus Dunstan and written by Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Saw IV-VII). It’s quite a bit different than The Collector, tonally speaking, and this 6 minute clip reflects that. I was about to call it the “first 6 minutes” of the film, but there’s actually a handful of important scenes that take place before this one. Still, it’s near the beginning and full of blood!

In the new sequel, “When Elena’s (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he’s transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter’s disappearance, Elena’s wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Josh Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through thegruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena.

First Clip From ‘The Host 2′ Tramples Online!!

I wasn’t even entirely sure they had begun shooting The Host 2, but it looks like they’re done! Or, at least, they’re done with this clip! It’s actually a really cool action sequence, albiet one that looks like it entirely recreates an important beat from the first film.

There’s some confusion regarding what exactly is going on with the sequel. Even Imdbpro lists it as still in “development”. They don’t even have a director listed. Some people have pegged the film’s writer Ning Hao as being the guy behind the camera, while other reports have Park Myeong-chan as the helmer. More on this – and the release date – as it comes in.

Either way, it looks good! The clip comes from VFX house Micrograph and includes some behind the scenes footage. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE

Final ‘ThanksKilling 3′ Clip Presented In “Turkie Vision”

We now have the final clip for Jordan Downey’s ThanksKilling 3, on VOD starting November 13 (also being TUGGed into limited theaters) from Gravitas Ventures. This is the first time I’ve watched anything from the film, and I’m sort of impressed!

In ThanksKilling 3, the fowl-mouthed villain Turkie is back and hacking his way to find the last copy of ThanksKilling 2 which has landed in the hands of a group of disturbingly crude puppets. The death toll rises as Turkie carves through the likes of Flowis the rapping grandma, Rhonda the bisexual space worm, Yomi the puppet in search of her mind, and their equally ridiculous friends who all travel through fantastical settings such as the FeatherWorld and Turkey Hell. With the guidance of Uncle Donny (Dan Usaj), the wig-wearing inventor of the PluckMaster 3000, Jefferson (Joe Hartzler), Head of Security at ThanksgivingLand, and a WiseTurkey, the gatekeeper to the FeatherWorld, our collection of raunchy characters hope to fend off the murderous rampage of Turkie, all while trying to help Yomi find her mind.”

Directed by Jordan Downey, produced by Ricky Fosheim, and written by Kevin Stewart, Jordan Downey & Mike Will Downey, this hilariously gory sequel to cult hit “ThanksKilling” is the first movie to skip its own sequel.Dan Usaj and Joe Hartzler star alongside the voice-talents of Marc M (Flowis), Mike Litzenberg (Greg Garbage), Bridge Stuart (FrankenTurkey), Preston Altree (Nibla), Ben Siemon (Mrs. Turkey), Jordan Downey (Turkie, Yomi, Muff, WiseTurkey), and Kevin Stewart (Rhonda, PluckMaster).

First Clip From ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Welcomes You To Texas Motherf*cker!!!

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s still, we’ve now got a clip from Texas Chainsaw 3D, which continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace.

The clip (via Machinima) expands upon the scene from which yesterday’s still, featuring Nikki (Tania Raymondei) and Ryan (Tremaine ‘Trey Songz’ Neverson), was pulled. There’s some chainsaw action and a Shane Black-esque one liner. Question. Why would someone welcome Leatherface to Texas? He’s already there, right? It kind of makes even less sense than your stewardess or pilot welcoming you to a city they arrived in at the same time as you.

In theaters January 4, 2013, the slasher is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star. It’s been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.
