The hype behind Joe Carnahan’s (A-Team) The Grey is out of control as I’ve yet to hear a single negative thing about Open Road’s survival thriller opening in theaters January 27.

We’ve now landed a handful of clips from the widely praised thriller that stars Liam Neeson (Unknown, After.Life), Dallas Roberts (Joshua, The Factory), James Badge Dale (The Departed), Dermot Mulroney (Zodiac), Frank Grillo (My Soul to Take, Mother’s Day), Nonso Anozie (RocknRolla), and Joe Anderson. Dig on ‘em all after the break.

In ‘The Grey,’ Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out.READ MORE

Two New Clips For ‘The Darkest Hour 3D’ Don’t Add Much To The Trailer

darkeststills112211 Two New Clips For The Darkest Hour 3D Dont Add Much To The Trailer

With a Christmas Day release date looming, Summit Entertainment’s The Darkest Hour (set report part 1, part 2), is doing everything it can to kick things into awareness overdrive.

While I love the cast, I’m just not hyped up about this one yet. These clips straddle the same kind of pleasantly middle of the road territory as the trailer. So even though I wouldn’t mind seeing it, I’m not chomping at the bit just yet.

Directed by Chris Gorak, and starring Olivia Thirlby, Emile Hirsch, Rachael Taylor, Joel Kinnaman and Max Minghella, the 28 Days-like thriller follows five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack.

Hit the jump to check out the clips! And if you haven’t seen the trailer, we’ve got that in there as well. READ MORE

TV: [Next On] Video Preview of Dexter 06.12, Last Nights Reaction

This is the way the world ends…

Spoiler warning: Last night’s episode of “Dexter” ended on a perplexing cliffhanger leaving the audience wondering who’s the protagonist in the ongoing battle of good vs. evil. While it’s clear that Travis Marshall (Colin Hanks) is out of his mind, he does believe he’s raging war on mankind for God, all the while Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is clearly the “Devil” in the war (although he’s our anti-hero). While we ponder the two evildoers and their relationship, the most interesting aspect of episode 06.11 was the psychiatrist suggesting to Deborah (Jennifer Carpenter) that she’s secretly in love with her (non-biological) brother. Where will Showtime take this edgy subplot in the season finale next Sunday? And more importantly, what’s going on with Louis Greene, the new crime lab intern (Josh Cooke) who’s dating Batista’s sister (Aimee Garcia)?

The show was recently renewed for another two seasons, with a hint they may be the last. Is this Louis Greene character the lead up to the end? I believe so. Watch two clips from the “Dexter” season finale “This Is the Way the World Ends” inside and then talk back about everything leading up to Doomsday! READ MORE

‘Apollo 18′: Feast Your Eyes on Some Real Conspiracy Theories

Dimension Films will take off for the moon on September 2 with their found footage Apollo 18 (visit the film’s official website), which purports to have edited to together declassified footage – that leaked onto the web earlier this year – from a NASA mission that supposedly never happened.

With the rise of the Web and internet investigators, searching Google for anything from “Moon landing” to “Apollo NASA” will turn over more conspiracy threads than actual stories from authentic press outlets. Is there something in the rise of conspiracy theories and supposed evidence, or is it just inflated due to the average person’s ability to kick start their own blog?

While I would never suggest to you dear readers that the moon landing was faked, or that canceled Apollo missions were actually launched by NASA, there is an entire community dedicated to outing NASA and proving to the world that we’re ALL be lied to.

Technology has made it incredibly easy for those seeking evidence to do their own searching/investigatin. There’s Google Earth, Moon and Mars, with NASA declassifying thousands of hi-res imagery from their satellites and missions to the Moon and Mars. Conspiracy hounds have been sniffing through these images and videos in hopes of discovering evidence that proves NASA is lying, which is where films like Apollo 18 are inspired from.

Some very interesting items of note? Why not read about how NASA photoshopped the dark side of Saturn’s moon (a NASA emplloyee openly admitted to it, claiming it was to clean the image). Or, try searching for water on Mars back in 2008 or 2009, when it was just revealed a few weeks ago. You’ll also find all sorts of interesting stuff if you read about the moon and Photoshop; try searching for “Moon photos taped,” as some people claim to have uncovered NASA’s old tricks of putting tape over various areas of the moon. Not to mention the thousands who claim to have proven the moon landing was faked by the way the American flag is shadowed and pictured.

If this stuff interests you, and you want to go down the rabbit hole, read on for some links and random videos I pulled off the Tube. Apollo 18: Feast Your Eyes on Some Real Conspiracy Theories

Four Spine-Chilling Clips From ‘The Caller’

This Friday Samuel Goldwyn Films opens Mathew Parkhill’s pretty damn impressive J-horror inspired The Caller in limited theaters.

Starring Rachelle Lefevre, Stephen Moyer and Luis Guzman, below you’ll find four clips from the film that should come with a major spoiler warning. The fact of the matter is that you should probably watch NOTHING if you actually plan on seeing the pic. The “Twilight Zone”-esque feature, while weak in production value, is a pretty good thriller that’s even more entertaining when you have no idea what’s coming. So while I tease you with clips, I implore you NOT to watch them.

When troubled divorcee, Mary Kee, sets up home in her new apartment, she stumbles across an old telephone which she quickly falls in love with. Having stumbled upon the mansion’s hidden basement, Sally starts hearing voices calling out from the bolted ash pit, imploring her to open it.
