[Freaky Fashion] This ‘Fatal Frame’ Cosplay Will Haunt You

We’ve covered a lot of cosplay here, but never anything from Fatal Frame. It’s a shame really, because that series has some of the freakiest enemies I’ve ever had the pleasure of snapping pictures of. Today, we have some cosplay from Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse — you know, the one that never left Japan — and it’s intensely freaky. Himiko Kiriya (the one with the cage on her head) is particularly frightening. Check them out after the jump.

[Freaky Fashion] This Queen Of Blades Cosplay Will Blow Your Mind

This may very well be the best cosplay I’ve ever seen.

I’d very much like to introduce you to Tasha of the South Korean cosplay team Spiral Cats. The femme fatale she’s impersonating is none other than StarCraft II’s Kerrigan, also known as the Queen of Blades. You don’t have to be a gamer to appreciate the insane amount of time and creativity that was invested into bringing Kerrigan into the real work. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought these were CG renders from the game.

[Freaky Fashion] This ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ Cosplay Needs More Jack O’ Lanterns

Halloween is still so very far away, but that’s not going to keep me from craving the warm glow of jack o’ lanterns, the excitement of going to a new haunted house, and that amazing crisp autumn air. Michael Dougherty’s horror anthology Trick ‘r Treat is, in my humble opinion, the best movie to watch on Halloween. It managed to dethrone A Nightmare Before Christmas, though by “dethrone” I mean my annual viewing of Tim Burton’s classic has been moved to October 30 so I can make the 31st all about Trick ‘r Treat.

It’s an amazing film that perfectly captures everything I love about Halloween, so when I stumbled across this Sam cosplay, I just had to share it with you. It’s incredible.

[BD Contest] Meet Our Tenth “Deadite Of The Day” Jay Woodley!!!

It’s now time for the final entry of our Deadite Of The Day contest. As we stated before (head inside for the full list of rules)! Winners will be announced daily from March 25th – April 5th (weekends excluded). And well, April 5th is today. Again, it’s kind of a bummer because this has actually been very rewarding for me. It’s a lot of fun to share these creations with the world and make true horror fans happy.

Today’s winner is Jay Woodley (along with Danielle Skelley for putting up with it)! I got a lot of Evil Dead cosplay pics but I think this was my favorite. In Jay’s (brief) words, “Hey guys! here is the costume i made a few years back. with REAL homelite xl chainsaw. Enjoy!

Be sure to check back Monday to see who we announce as the grand prize winner! Whoever they are will receive POSTER SIGNED BY THE CAST AND CREW of Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake – in theaters today!

In the meantime, head inside for a better look at Jay’s work! READ MORE

Would You Kindly Look At This Amazing ‘BioShock’ Cosplay?

With BioShock Infinite just around the corner, many fans are excitedly preparing to explore the floating city of Columbia. Infinite’s city in the sky is the polar opposite of where the series started, in the underwater city of Rapture, hidden in the murky depths of the Atlantic. I’ll never forget my first encounter with a Big Daddy — which didn’t end well — or the first time I was given the choice to either save the Little Sister or harvest her for precious Adam. That’s what makes this BioShock cosplay so great, because it reminds me of all the time I spent in Rapture.

The World Needs More Jack Skellington Cosplay

We’ve featured some pretty amazing cosplay here — like zombie Iron Man and a Daedric knight — but this one has a special place in my heart because it’s from one of my favorite movies, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. I think Deviant Artist Maho-Urei has done an amazing job in recreating Jack Skellington, but I’ll let you take a look and decide for yourself.

It’ll Be Difficult To Top This Incredible Zombie Iron Man Cosplay

If you’ve ever wondered what a zombiefied Iron Man would look like then wonder no more. Someone has actually created a zombie Iron Man cosplay, and it’s easily a runner up for most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen great Iron Man cosplay, some talented folks have even gone so far as to create a (mostly) functional suit with LED lights and that badass visor that drops over the face. That’s great and all, but this gets bonus points for including zombies — because everyone knows zombies make everything better. Check him out after the break.

The J’avo From ‘Resident Evil 6′ Has A Face Only A Mother Could Love

Some of the enemies in Resident Evil 6 may have bordered on comical — I’m looking at you, man with the giant chicken legs — but there were a few that were genuinely freaky. The basic enemy you come across in RE6 is the J’avo, a mutated, mostly-human creature that has freaky spider eyes and a fondness for sprouting fucking chicken legs. They’re ugly and I was always happy to put them down. Cosplayer Toten2 has taken the J’avo’s… unique face and brought it into the real world. The results are a little gross. Check him out after the jump!

This ‘Resident Evil 0′ Cosplay Makes Me Nostalgic For The Old Days

Fans of the classic Resident Evil games have been clamoring for Capcom to return the series to its roots in survival horror since forever, it seems. More often than not, when you ask an RE fan what their favorite entry in the series is you’re likely to hear them say either RE1, RE2, or RE4. Unfortunately, Resident Evil 0 often gets overlooked, despite being an awesome game. I don’t see very many cosplayers taking on the game, but Akusesu has filled this RE0 shaped hole in my aching heart with some fantastic renditions of Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen. Check them out after the break.

This Nightingale Cosplay Brings ‘Skyrim’s’ Coolest Fantasy Ninja Gear To Life

I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve spent over 100 hours in Skyrim — okay, maybe I’m a little ashamed — I’ve come across every type of armor the game has to offer. Most are forgettable, others are laughable (glass armor? I’d rather not spend my time picking glass out of my body after a fight, thank you very much.), and there are a few that manage to be intensely badass. The first is the Daedric armor, which I’ve covered before, and the Nightingale armor. The latter isn’t the best stats-wise, but that’s forgivable when you slip it on and see how amazing your character looks wearing it.You may not be able to take a hit, but that won’t matter when your enemies bow before your fantasy ninja greatness.

A particularly talented cosplayer has decided to realize my fantasy of creating the full set, but she refuses to sell it to me even after I offered my life savings (basically the $0.75 I found in a cushion and a half-eaten absinthe lollipop).

‘Revelations’ Releases On DVD Soon, Let’s Ignore It In Favor Of Some Amazing ‘Silent Hill’ Cosplay

The latest video game adapatation/abomination, Silent Hill: Revelations, is releasing on DVD and Blu-Ray on the 12th, so let’s try and forget about it so we can instead focus on what’s important: amazing Silent Hill cosplay. Fans of Konami’s survival horror franchise have been cosplaying as some of the series’ sickest creatures for some time now, but these are easily some of the best I’ve seen so far. After the break you’ll find fan interpretations of the nurses, Lying Figures, and Pyramid Head. They’re all great, but the one that really stands out to me is everyone’s favorite iconic tetrahedron headed monster, who is looking particularly good in these shots.

‘Resident Evil 2′ Turned 15 Yesterday, Let’s Celebrate With Some Ada Wong Cosplay

Yeah, I know, I’m a day late with this. Forgive me, for I was busy reviewing one of the worst games in recent memory. Back in August, TJ and I nearly got into fisticuffs over which was the best Resident Evil. Blood was shed, harsh words were yelled, tears were wept (mostly from me), and in the end we had a clear winner. Actually, that’s a lie, even all of you couldn’t decide which game was best. At the time of this writing, and out of over 700 votes, Resident Evil 2 and RE4 are tied with 34% of the votes each. That’s crazy. So crazy I felt the urge to include proof after the break.

Obviously, there’s still a lot of love for Resident Evil 2, and understandably so. It’s an amazing game that, much like Aliens built on the foundation of its predecessor, RE2 took the series out of the Spencer Mansion and into the chaos that was Raccoon City. One of the best things about that game was the sultry special agent Ada Wong, who’s been a series mainstay since her debut in RE2. Since then, she’s took up residence in all our hearts, and especially Leon’s, who’s been smitten with her for some time now. If you don’t love her already, you will after you see this amazing cosplay I have waiting for you after the break.

Quick! What’s the coolest looking armor in Skyrim? Did I hear you say Daedric? YOU WIN! What did you win, you ask? You won the opportunity to click that little read more link to see some gorgeous Daedric armor. It looks amazing, and it’s the work of cosplayer and Deviant Artist ~Zerios88. This Is The Best ‘Dead Space’ Cosplay I’ve Ever Seen

Cosplay can be a wonderful thing. If I were creative enough or had any discernible talent I’d love to be a cosplayer. I’ve seen a fair share of Dead Space cosplay over the years, but none have been as fun to look at as Kevin, who you can see in the supremely badass armor of Isaac Clarke (if we want to get really nerdy I could say he’s wearing the Security Suit from Dead Space 2), and Léa Charvin, who portrays Ellie Langford in many of the shots. Check them out after the break!
