Britain’s legendary extreme metal outfit, Cradle Of Filth, has revealed the title of their Nuclear Blast Records debut as ‘Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa’. The forthcoming record from one of the most notorious names in metal is set for a November 9th release in North America.
The Grammy-nominated, Cradle Of Filth, has been a pioneer of extreme music since their 1994 debut, and has continued to evolve with each subsequent release. The band has consistently refused to bow to convention, or conform to prevalent trends and fads, and has constantly sought to push the boundaries of their art. This rings true once more on Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa.
A loyal stalwart to the satanic horror ethos, Cradle Of Filth has again created a concept album, this time based on Adam’s first wife, the lascivious demoness Lilith. Throwing medieval nuns, Knights, Templars, Greek mythology, lashings of sex, occult lore, and violent bloodshed together into a creative milieu, Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa is a dark erotic nightmare set to Cradle Of Filth’s unique scope of supreme vampyric metal.
One of the most infamous and notorious names in metal, Cradle of Filth, continue to shock, excite, disgust and inspire in equal measures. On November 9, 2010 in North America, the latest chapter of the band’s dark history will be released through Nuclear Blast USA.
Frederick Jude, Managing Director of Peaceville Records, comments on this upcoming cooperative effort: “Football aside, we’re pleased to be teaming up with Nuclear Blast on this very important release. Given their resources, interest in the band, and track record in the U.S., we believe Cradle of Filth will be best positioned to better the sales of their last album in North America.”

Orbs was founded back in 2007 by Dan Briggs (Between The Buried And Me), Adam Fisher (Fear Before), Clayton Holyoak (Fear Before) and Ashely Ellyllon (Abigail Williams, Cradle Of Filth). With that being said you could call this an insanely amazing super group. Recently they signed with respectable indie label Equal Vision Records to release the groups first full length album “Asleep Next To Science”. It’s fair to say I am super pumped for this release and look forward to their first offering. Read past the break for the official press release as well as the album artwork and track list!
Cradle of Filth guitarist Paul Allender had this to say about the band’s new album, “I’m about half way through writing the material [for the new CRADLE OF FILTH album] and it’s turning out just the way I wanted it. I’ve mentioned to a few people that it’s a lot faster and heavier than [2008's 'Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder']. Well, to be honest, the new material has been taken up quite a few gears.”
I’ve never been a huge fan, but I thought their last album ‘Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder’ (2008), seemed quite a bit faster than what I remember hearing before so it’ll be interesting to see how this turns out. On a side note, I just saw that the PRS SE Paul Allender Model guitar is now available in a pretty sweet looking Emerald Green… just in case you wanted to buy me an early Christmas present.
