Director Dante Tomaselli (Torture Chamber) has cast Kathryn Morris (pictured above;”Cold Case”) as the lead Catherine Spages in his remake of Alfred Sole’s ’76 classic Alice, Sweet Alice, in which a young girl is brutally murdered during her first communion and her strange and withdrawn older sister becomes the main suspect.
Per The Inquisitr, Morris will also co-produce with her production company Revival House and Mosaic Media Group partnering on the remake.
In the original, “Paula Sheppard is Alice, a pouty, petulant problem child at that awkward age living with her precocious little sister Karen (Brooke Shields) and single mom. When Karen is murdered during her first communion and Alice takes her place in line, suspicion immediately falls on her. With director Dante Tomaselli’s continues to complete Torture Chamber set to World Premiere at Sitges 2012 Festival in Spain, he’s currently working on a remake of Alfred Sole’s ’76 classic Alice, Sweet Alice, in which a young girl is brutally murdered during her first communion and her strange and withdrawn older sister becomes the main suspect.
There’s no actual update as to whether or not this will happen, but until then Tomaselli is teasing the redo with the following poster. AFM is forthcoming, so maybe we’ll hear something more official in November?

I only learned about Dante Tomaselli’s (Horror and Satan’s Playground) indie horror Torture Chamber a few weeks back when I updated the site with posters for the film. But now sales agent Shoreline has picked it up to rep the rights around the world.
Shoreline head Morris Ruskin told Screendaily, “Lately our company has been focused on arthouse, foreign language and documentary films, but distributors have not let us forget that their appetite for genre-driven fare has not waned. We are delighted to take this horror picture that delivers the goods to the marketplace.”
