‘Darksiders II’ Review: This Is No Place For A Horse

If you’re like me, then your nights are undoubtedly plagued by bloody fantasies that have you riding a ghostly horse into the field of battle, where demons and angels are warring over whatever it is the two sides can’t seem to agree upon. Just as you force your way into the frenzy, you whip out your scythes and start ruining every goddamned thing that moves. When things start to get a little hairy, you decide to unleash your true power–a terrifying grim reaper form that throws your badass factor through the roof and up into the sky above. Angels and demons alike quickly learn to fear you, and just as you’re making your way up the pile of bloodied corpses that were begging for their lives just a few seconds earlier, the alarm clock goes off and you wake up only to remember that you’re a geek with no real physical ability. If you haven’t had this dream, I suggest living vicariously through my review of Darksiders II.

Darksiders II OST Available For Pre-Order

The Darksiders II OST, which is composed by Jesper Kyd, is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The two-disc OST features original music composed by Kyd, who is known for his work on the Hitman and Assassin’s Creed series. The release date for the soundtrack is Aug. 14th with the game coming out the same day. You can stream samples of the music here. READ MORE

So, this might be more of a video game story but dammit it’s about the music! BAFTA award winning composer Jesper Kyd, who has composed music for Assassin’s Creed, Hitman, Borderlands, and much more, has released several samples for the upcoming horror-tinged adventure game Darksiders II. I’ve listened to a few of the tracks and they’re beautifully done. Very atmospheric with some hauntingly gorgeous melodies, I highly recommend streaming some of them below. READ MORE

Darksiders II is now one of the many games to get postponed. Usually upon hearing that a game is postponed my immediate reaction is “Oh god damn it what the fuck, fucking developers god damned assholes piss me off argh!”. Once I calm down I remember that most games when postponed, gives the developers a bit more time to polish up and but finishing touches on the game. At the end of the day that’s the best choice so the game isn’t released unfinished. Originally supposed to come out this June, the game has only been pushed back to August and will still release on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Check out a bunch of screens past the break.

Darksiders II is basically your black friends big penis. Your penis? Darksiders I. The game is going to be huge. Atop its largeness, are the MASSIVE amounts of customization options as you level up. It also looks like they have added loot to the game. Inside, I’m squealing like a tween at the sight of Justin Beiber. But I’ll let you watch the video below and get an idea for yourself just how awesome Darksiders II will be.

Below you’ll find part 1 of the Guardian Trailers from Darksiders II. The trailer is so kick ass that the game will obviously never live up to it. I remember back in the day thinking that I couldn’t wait until games look like the CGI cut scenes all the time. Well, for this generation of consoles, I’m starting to get that hoping feeling again. I can’t wait until the gameplay matches this beautiful GCI. Enjoy.

I JUST finished Darksiders. Needless to say, it was a blast and I can’t effing wait for Darksiders II to be released. The video below gives you an awesome look in Death’s world in the second game. Also, his horse has green sweet as hell flames. Also, it looks as if you’re getting your horse a bit earlier on in Darksiders II. Which is awesome because I did way wayyyy too much walking in the 1st game. It also looks like the sequel’s world will be on a much larger scale.

I’m hoping Darksiders 5 will be a full on 4 player co-op all 4 horsemen going nutso awesome style crazy balls. And a horde mode plz? Darksiders II is coming out June 26th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE

Darksiders is one of those games I really wanted to play but just never got around to it. I’ll get there someday, hopefully before the release of Darksiders II sometime this year. In the sequel you will be playing as Death. Definitely the most well known of the 4 horsemen. Also the most differently portrayed.

Though I only played the demo of Darksiders it was one of those games I wanted to play but never got around to it. But someday I will, and hopefully it will lead me into the just announced, Darksiders II. In the 2nd part of the series you play as Death 1 of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. In Darksiders II Death is trying to redeem his brother War who was blamed for starting the apocalypse.

Like most sequels, Darksiders II promises to improve just about every aspect of the game. Bigger world, weapon and armor upgrade systems, new enemies, this and that, blah blah blah. The game has no release date as of now, and will be released on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, sometime in 2012. READ MORE
