[TV] New Poster For “Da Vinci’s Demons” Doesn’t Help Matters Much

STARZ has released a new poster for “Da Vinci’s Demons,” an original series penned by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) that will start airing April 12th. It still looks pretty stupid.

Starring Tom Riley (“Monroe”), as the title character, “Da Vinci’s Demons” is an historical fantasy, following the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five year old Leonardo Da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future but invent it.

The series also stars Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners, “Honest,” Captain America: The First Avenger), who plays the celebrated beauty with obscure motives, Lucrezia Donati; Elliot Cowan (“Marchlands,” “The Fixer,” “Lost in Austen”), who plays the shrewd de factor ruler of Florence, Lorenzo Medici; Lara Pulver (“True Blood,” “Sherlock,” “Robin Hood”), who plays his wife, Clarice Orsini; and Blake Ritson (RocknRolla, Titus, “World Without End”) as Pope Sixtus’ ruthless bastard son, Count Riario.

Head inside to see Da Vinci spread his wings! Is it me or can you picture exactly how this pitch meeting played out? READ MORE

Black Ops II, Theme Song By Trent Reznor And Written By David S. Goyer. Take That Hollywood.

The video game industry has grown exponentially over time, and it’s only going to get bigger. In a poll I made up right now some people would argue that the video game industry has grown to be even bigger than the movie industry. Bringing in billions and billions a year, over the past 10 years the gaming industry is seeing much more people from movies and tv making the cross platform jump into working on video games. Call Of Duty: Black Ops II is no exception. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame scored the theme song for the game. David S. Goyer who helped write the original Black Ops as well as the Batman Begins series is again writing Black Ops II. Check out the featurette video below where David, Trent, and the games Devs talk about Black Ops II.

Call of Duty Black Ops II will be released November 12th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

TV: Leading Man Found For David S. Goyer’s “Da Vinci’s Demons”

Tom Riley (A Few Days in September, I Want Candy and Happy Ever Afters) will play Leonardo Da Vinci in David Goyer’s upcoming series, “Da Vinci’s Demons“.

Per Variety, ““Da Vinci’s Demons,” written by David S. Goyer, is billed as “a historical fantasy,” and claims to recount the ‘untold’ story of the great renaissance genius during his turbulent youth in Florence.

Says Goyer “Given that Da Vinci was the model for the ‘Renaissance Man,’ these were incredibly large shoes to fill. Leonardo had to be smart, witty and incredibly confident — without coming across as arrogant. He also had to be tormented, because, as a true visionary and polymath, he was ostracized for his ideas as much as he was celebrated. Tom came in and was able to effortlessly combine all of those elements. As soon as he finished his audition, we knew we’d found our man.

Let’s hope this series lives up to its “Demon” promises. Could we have a new “Supernatural” on our hands? Or will this simply be a quick cash in on the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunture historical mashup craze? READ MORE
