[BD Review] Here’s Our Review Of ‘Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines’!!

Arriving on home video just yesterday was Fox Home Entertainment’s Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, the sequel to their prequel to the incredible 2003 slasher directed by Rob Schmidt. While some of the sequels have been quite entertaining (especially Part Two), Declan O’Brien’s latest really offended Evan Dickson.

‘Wrong Turn 5′ is easily the worst film in the series. I also believe that it’s one of the most worthless films I’ve seen in my adult life… I think part of the key here is the utter disdain the film has for its audience. This movie doesn’t care if you like it or not. It’s not meant to be enjoyed, it’s meant to be bought.

Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines

The cutting-edge terror continues when a small mining town hosts the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween, where crowds of costumed partygoers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But a killer celebration soon gives way to a blood-soaked feeding frenzy when an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students who are just dying for a good time…

Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (V)

At an isolated hospital deep in the West Virginia wilderness, three hideously deformed mutants go on a merciless killing spree. Now, decades later, this family of blood-thirsty cannibals is stalking new prey: a group of young skiers trapped by a blizzard. The abandoned medical wards soon become killing fields as the panicked victims come face to face with a chilling choice — fight back or die. With bonus footage too graphic for theaters, WRONG TURN 4 takes you to the most terrifying place of all…the beginning.

Sharktopus (V)

An eight-tentacled nightmare hybrid of shark and octopus, “S-11” was created by genetic scientist Nathan Sands (Roberts) as the U.S. Navy’s next super-weapon. But when its control implants are damaged during a training experiment off the Mexican coast, the beast escapes to Puerto Vallarta to sample the local fare — bikini babes, jet-skiers, and spring-breakers. With the ocean terror now out of control and seemingly invincible, a ragtag group – comprised of a hotshot mercenary, an investigative reporter, and Sand’s biomechanical engineer daughter – have come together to stop the unholy beast from turning a seaside tourist resort into the ultimate human buffet.

But it won’t be easy: it possesses problem-solving intelligence, attacks without mercy or warning – it even has the ability to walk on land. Not to mention a decided affinity to snack on bungee jumpers… Kerem Bursin and Sara Malakul Lane co-star, with a hilarious cameo by Corman himself.

Full Motley Cast of Mutants For ‘Wrong Turn 4′

Back in January we broke the news that Fox Home Entertainment was gearing up for Wrong Turn 4, with the studio tapping Wrong Turn 3 director Declan O’Brien to return behind the camera.

With shooting underway in Birds Hill Park, Winnipeg, the local press reports that the role of “Three Finger” is being played by Sean Skene and “One Eye” is being played by his actor-brother Daniel Skene. Their father Rick Skene is the film’s stunt co-ordinator. Rounding out the killer trio is Winnipeg actor Scott Johnson as “Sawtooth.”

Playing a potential victim of the deranged locivores is Winnipeg actress Jennifer Pudavick as Kenia, whose resume has a number of horror offerings including Wishmaster III, Wishmaster IV and The Plague. Tenika Davis also stars.

In the fourth film in the popular franchise, a group of friends decide to go snowmobiling during their winter break. They make a “wrong turn” getting lost in a storm and seek shelter in an abandoned sanatorium. They are completely isolated by the storm, but the sanatorium has a troubled past and some of its former patients still reside there and are not happy about the intrusion. In a deadly game of cat and mouse the college kids must fight to survive the night. Only their wits can save them in this scary showdown locked away by the elements reminiscent of the classic film The Shining.”

Back in January we broke the news that Fox Home Entertainment was gearing up for Wrong Turn 4, with the studio tapping Wrong Turn 3 director Declan O’Brien to return behind the camera. With shooting scheduled to begin this coming February in Winnipeg, we just now got our hands on the plot details:

I wish they’d find a way to make the sequel look less “cheesy”.
