Detroit metal band Battlecross will be entering the studio next month to record the follow up to 2011′s Pursuit of Honor. The band will record the album in Audiohammer Studios in Florida with producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Devil Driver).
Lewis states, “I can’t wait to be a part of Battlecross’ next record. From the moment I heard the band I knew I wanted to be a part of their development. Hearing the new music has only solidified that feeling. Working with our good friends at Metal Blade and bringing great new music to the masses is what it’s all about.”
Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala says the band is “…stoked to be working with a prolific studio and producer at Audiohammer. We’re so focused on making a killer follow up album and we feel that Mark Lewis will help bring our raw, live sound to life.”

BlizzCon’s going on right now and this year it’s all about Diablo 3 and World of WarCraft’s upcoming world-changing Cataclysm expansion. Regarding the former we’ve seen a few of the classes detailed so far including the Witch Doctor, Monk, Barbarian and Wizard that bring with them old school Diablo vibes mixed with something a little new.
The Demon Hunter looks like a fusion of Diablo II’s Amazon and Assassin classes, since she uses long ranged projectile attacks mixed with what look like traps and shadow skills. I loved the Assassin back in the day so this may very well end up being my favorite character. I’ll let you decide for yourself after you check out the very cool reveal trailer, after the jump.
