‘Chain Letter’ Director Attempts Paranormal Scares With ‘Akuma’

Deon Taylor refuses to let the horror genre go as the man behind Chain Letter will direct and produce horror pic Akuma for his newly minted Hidden Empire Film Group label, says Variety.

Screen Media Films has secured worldwide distribution rights and is planning a U.S. theatrical release next fall.

Taylor wrote the screenplay with Blayne Weaver and Joe Bockol.

The film will be shot in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Japan and San Francisco. Shooting’s scheduled to begin November 10.
