The next game from the House of Halo, Destiny, looks incredible. It’s perhaps one of the more visually impressive next-gen titles I’ve seen so far, and it’s obvious Bungie is investing quite a bit into this ambitious new project, which looks like more and more like the lovechild of Borderlands and Star Wars. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until 2014 to get our hands on it, but I have the feeling it’ll be well worth the wait.
To make the wait a wee bit more bearable, feel free to get a little more familiar with Destiny in the video I have waiting for you after the jump.
The makers of Halo have been hard at work on a brand new IP called Destiny. It was officially announced way back in February, but it wasn’t until last night that we got a real good look at the game. Visually, it’s gorgeous, though that should come as no surprise. What’s particularly interesting is how it brings together dynamic co-op — your friends can join you via drop ship in real time — with MMO and RPG gameplay. There’s a deep skill system, multiple character classes, epic loot, and Public Events, which consist of many players partaking in large scale battles. Check out its new trailer and twelve minutes of gameplay, after the jump.
You’ve probably already heard about Destiny. If you haven’t, it’s Bungie’s newest game since passing on the Halo series to 343 Industries. Bungie is combining forces with Activision this time around who as you know are behind the Call Of Duty series. Bungie made the Halo Universe massive, and they aren’t dialing it back one bit for Destiny. They plan to have a huge social aspect to the game. Where you could be exploring the massive universe in your game and come across other online adventurers in theirs. But it sounds like it will be so much more than what you would experience in an MMO. And it’s loaded with what Bungie is known for. Awesome FPS action. Head past the break for the reveal video, incredible game art, and lots more on the game!
It seems nowadays with the intarwebz and all that jazz that it’s a lot easier to spoil and leak game info. And it spreads like wildfire before anyone can put a stop to it. Well info about the story and some artwork about Bungie’s newest game Destiny was leaked to IGN by one of their readers. Bungie is hoping the Destiny universe and lore will become as familiar to gamers as Star Wars has. It definitely looks like they are aiming to surpass Halo’s popularity and leave it in the rear view. Head past the break for some info on the story.
Kotaku recently posted some info they found out about the game Bungie has been at work on and been keeping on the down low. Apparently a very recently let go contractor (1 of 30) spilled some beans about Bungie’s latest game entitled Destiny. It is to be a sci-fi first person shooter MMO. I’m in.
If you want to read about the entire “debacle” with the supposed firing of 30 employees head to Kotaku to read the back and forths. It honestly almost seems like just a weird way to announce/promote their game. Thoughts? READ MORE
