Curse of Chucky

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Child’s Play (remake)

In the original: When serial killer Charles Lee Ray is mortally wounded in a police shoot-out, he uses a voodoo spell to transfer his soul into Chucky, a “Good Guys” doll. Andy receives the doll as a birthday gift, and Chucky soon resumes his killing spree. However, Charles doesn’t want to be trapped in the body of a doll forever. His only escape would be to transfer into the first human he revealed his true identity to… which places Andy in mortal danger.

New ‘Child’s Play’ Tagline On The PG13 Side Of Things…

The sixth installment of the Child’s Play franchise, Curse of Chucky, started shooting in September in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The film is directed by Don Mancini, the Child’s Play franchise creator who has written or co-written each of the previous movies and was the director of Seed of Chucky.

And recently a video interview surfaced with Mancini in which we glimpse what looks like some sales art for the film. It bears the tagline, “Be afraid. Be effing afraid.” It’s not bad I guess, I actually kind of prefer it to “f*cking” in this case because the latter would show no originality. Of course, even though the tagline in somewhat censored, that doesn’t make it a PG13 movie. I’m fairly sure this thing will be R (for you rating police out there).

Curse of Chucky stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, “True Blood,” “Deadwood”), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “General Hospital”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”) and Brennan Elliott (Flight 93, Double Jeopardy). Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings, Dune) once again returns to provide the voice of Chucky, the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who returns to settle some unfinished business.

Filming Begins On ‘Curse of Chucky’! Full Cast, Synopsis Revealed!!

Bloody Disgusting is excited to report that the sixth installment of the frightening Child’s Play franchise, Curse of Chucky, has officially begun principal photography in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada! The franchise comes full circle as Toyland’s most gruesome serial killer returns in a horrifying all-new movie from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Curse of Chucky stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, “True Blood,” “Deadwood”), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “General Hospital”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”) and Brennan Elliott (Flight 93, Double Jeopardy). [OMFG] ‘Child’s Play’ Sequel Begins Casting! It’s The ‘Curse of Chucky’!

We’ve learned that casting is currently underway for Universal Home Entertainment’s Curse of Chucky, which will begin shooting in Winnipeg, Canada in September!

Franchise creator and writer Don Mancini will write, direct and produce. The best news is that Brad Dourif is back once again to voice the role of the killer doll (who has the soul of Charles Lee Ray trapped inside).

In the fifth sequel, a family gathers for a funeral, only to be met with an insane bloodbath caused by the infamous Chucky. The question is: what is the “curse” the titles eludes to?

As previously reported, the new sequel will be a throwback to the original Child’s Play trilogy, meaning less shenanigans and more bloodshed. Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t be seeing the busty and beautiful Jennifer Tilly in this one.

The cast will include the characters Nica, Ian, Barb, Jill, Sarah and Father Frank. Nica is a young wheelchair-bound girl who receives the doll; Ian is the father and Nica’s brother-in-law suspicious his wife is cheating on him; Barb is a mean-spiritied and greedy woman, Nica’s older sister; Jill is the lead and is a nanny having a secret affair with Barb; Sarah is Nica’s mother whom commits suicide.

Dourif introduced Chucky into the world in 1988′s Child’s Play, which was penned by Mancini. The franchise has spawned four sequels, Child’s Play 2, Child’s Play 3, Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky.

Talk below, how excited are you?!

‘Child’s Play’ Family Featured In Rumored Spin-Off: ‘Revenge of Chucky’

Childs Play Family Featured In Rumored Spin Off: Revenge of Chucky

Next to “Tales From the Crypt” and The Evil Dead trilogy, my favorite franchise growing up was easily the Don Mancini-created Child’s Play, Tom Holland’s 1988 horror film in which a petty thug possesses a “Good Guy” doll. I’d hate to see the story of Charles Lee Ray end with the comedy Seed of Chucky — I want nothing more than to see the devilish doll return to his sinister roots…

While rumors swirled of a reboot almost exact a year to this day, nothing has come into fruition. Nothing ever does, which is why the following should be taken with a grain of salt — although, it should be acknowledged that MGM – the franchise rights holder – has sorted their sh*t out, and has been moving on quite a few projects…

Our friends at Moviehole are reporting that there are reportedly two Child’s Play projects in the works: the aforementioned remake and a spin-off of sorts involving Chucky’s immediate family, Revenge of Chucky. The news came out of a reunion panel at The Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, North Carolina featuring stars Alex Vincent, Brad Dourif and Chris Sarandon.

Dourif, who is the definitive voice of ol’ Chuckster, confirmed that he’s involved in both projects but has not seen a script for the Child’s Play remake yet.

Don Mancini and David Kirschner have been planning to reboot the franchise for several years with Mancini both writing and directing. It is said that, if made, the remake will be a darker and scarier retelling of the original film, but one that will offer new twists and turns. READ MORE
