Its hard to deny Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, of his epic status in the history of rock and roll. He was without a doubt one of the most powerful and vocally gifted singers of our time. While many of you have heard that he is no longer with the band – not as many are familiar with the story of Arnel Pineda, the formerly homeless Filipino who has taken his place. Discovered on YouTube by Neil Schon, Arnel barely speaks a lick of English, yet he is perhaps the only man in world skilled enough to fill Steve’s shoes.
