MindFlesh is a psycho-sexual horror/thriller about obsession. Chris Jackson is a taxi driver with a childhood trauma. The trauma has made him a portal for obsessions to pass from the mind to the physical world and hence disrupt the world’s multiple planes of reality. Extraterrestrials that police the universe threaten to kill Chris’ friends unless he conquers his past.
Veteran producer Edward R. Pressman (The Crow, American Psycho) has snatched up the film rights to Feeding Ground, based on the graphic novel by Swifty Lang, Michael Lapinski and Chris Mangun.
The book is, “The story of an illegal immigrant trafficker — a “coyote,” in cross-border parlance — who is forced to smuggle his own family into America after his young brother runs afoul of a local gangster. With the cartel on his heels and U.S. Border Patrol agents bearing down from the other side, the family is trapped in the no-man’s land known as the Devil’s Highway and discovers the entire party is being stalked by supernatural creatures.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pressman has set Alfonso Gomez-Rejon to direct and has hired Carlos Coto (“24″) to write the screenplay. Gomez-Rejon was formerly a personal assistant to Martin Scorsese and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, so he’s learned from the best. The plan is to keep the Spanish characters speaking Spanish, with the Americans speaking English.
