With AFM quickly approaching, we’re going to receive a rash of promo trailers and posters, along with breaking news regarding a slew of independent and foreign horror. This year, the plan is to bunch them together as there’s no reason for 400 news posts about some films that may never even see a release (it’s a sad truth).

Thanks to Twitch, we’ve received a trio of new trailers for some foreign fare, including Oriol Paulo’s The Body (El Cuerpo), which stars begins when a woman’s body vanishes from the morgue in mysterious circumstances. In the course of a single night, Inspector Jaime Peña investigates the disappearance with the help of her widower.

Then there’s the trailer for the Indonesian horror film Dendam Dari Kurburan (Revenge From The Grave) as well as one for 3AM, a Thai anthology about ghostly encounters that all take place at 3AM. It’s also in 3-D. Yay?

[Sitges '12] ‘The Body’ To Open International Film Festival

The 45th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia will be held from October 4th to the 14th and will to open this celebration of cinema is the Catalan production The Body (El Cuerpo), by debut director Oriol Paulo, a psychological thriller chock full of suspense starring Belén Rueda, José Coronado, Hugo Silva and Aura Garrido.

From Rodar Y Rodar, producers of The Orphanage and Julia’s Eyes, comes the highly anticipated Spanish thriller in which Pena toplines as a police inspector sent to investigate the disappearance of a woman’s body from a morgue.

While fleeing in panic, a man is knocked over by a lorry. When the police arrive they discover that he is the Night Watchman at a morgue near the site of the accident. When they enter his workplace they find that one of the bodies Mayka Villaverde, a society personality, has disappeared from room 3.

Padro described the film as a “Hitchcock-style psychological thriller” that channels influences such as Rob Reiner’s Misery and Hitchcock’s The Birds.

From Rodar Y Rodar, producers of The Orphanage and Julia’s Eyes, comes the highly anticipated Spanish thriller The Body (El Cuerpo), which is now in post-production for sales at the upcoming Cannes market. Leaking early, we’ve now added the sales trailer sharing the thriller’s first ever footage!
