[Single Review] TesseracT “Nocturne”

TesseracT is a band that came seemingly out of nowhere and rocked the metal community. The band’s mixture of vicious metal riffs with glorious, beautiful soundscapes captured and awed, garnering a fanatical fanbase that are near rabid supporters.

In August of 2011, singer Daniel Tompkins left the band, replaced by Sky Eats Airplanes vocalist Elliot Coleman. Less than a year later, Elliot left the band and fans were again left wondering what would be the next step. After all, the only official release with Coleman was the Perspective EP, which was a rerecorded version of “Eden” entitled “Eden 2.0” as well as acoustic covers of three songs from the One album (review) and a cover of Jeff Buckley’s “Dream Brother”. So many were left wondering when new material would surface.

Then, suddenly, a post on the band’s Facebook stated that not only had a new singer been locked down but that a new single, “Nocturne”, would soon be released. Anticipation reached cosmic levels. Could this song satisfy the hopes of so many after so much had happened? Well, I was given a copy of the upcoming single and I have my thoughts on it below. Read on for my review! READ MORE

TesseracT Unveil New Demo With Singer Elliot Coleman

Many people were shocked when, a few weeks ago, TesseracT announced that vocalist Dan Tompkins had left the band and that Elliot Coleman (OMNOM, Sky Eats Airplane) had joined on as his replacement. While I wish Dan the greatest success in his future journeys, my eyes are set square on TesseracT and their next move. Turns out I didn’t have to wait terribly long as the band has unveiled a trailer for their upcoming Lowering The Tone Tour, which features support from Chimpspanner and Uneven Structure. This trailer features a new demo with Elliot on vocals. Check it out below and leave your thoughts!

A few days ago, we posted the exclusive breaking story that TesseracT singer Dan Tompkins was leaving the band and a replacement singer, Elliot Coleman (Sky Eats Airplane, OMNOM, Haunted Shores), had been found. Until now, the band has been keeping it quiet, waiting for the right moment to say something. Well, that time has come. Check after the jump for quotes from several of the members, including Dan.

TesseracT will also be filming a video for Eden, which comes off of One, released earlier this year (review here). The video will be directed by Ganesh Rao, who made this awesome video, which gives a lot of nods to the visual aesthetic of Tool

Exclusive: TesseracT Singer Dan Tompkins Quits: New Singer Announced

Bloody-Disgusting has scored the exclusive scoop that singer Dan Tompkins has officially left TesseracT. Dan has been offered a chance to be part of a pop project, which is apparently where his heart lies.

Although I’m sad to see Dan go, as he has some amazing pipes on him, we can also exclusively confirm that vocalist Washington D.C.’s Elliot Coleman has officially come aboard as the new singer. Elliot was in the bands Sky Eats Airplane and OMNOM. An official announcement will be coming Tuesday.
After the jump is a live clip of Elliot singing Concealing Fate Part 1 – Acceptance.
