50 Cent Releases Video For “My Life” Featuring Eminem And Adam Levine

Rapper 50 Cent has released a music video for his new single “My Life”, which will be on his fifth studio album Street King Immortal (out Feb. 26th, 2013). The song features Eminem and Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine. You can purchase it on iTunes.

The video shows 50 Cent and a friend driving a car around what looks like Detroit while a helicopter chases them. Meanwhile, Eminem is running through fields while, yup, a helicopter chases him. And as for Adam Levine? He stands around singing the chorus while helicopter lights circle around him. You can check it out below. READ MORE

Skylar Grey Feat. Eminem In “C’mon Let Me Ride” Is Just Plain Terrible

Skylar Grey has released a lyric video for her latest song “C’mon Let Me Ride”, which features Detroit rapper Eminem. The song will be available for purchase on Dec. 11th. You can watch a lyric video below.

Aside from the incredibly blatant lyrics (seriously, there is no subtly whatsoever), the lyric video makes it even more abundantly clear that this song is about sex. Instead of writing the lyrics in the form of a bicycle during the chorus, the wheels turn out to be the testicles to a penis and during the part where she sings, “I feel it comin’, comin’, comin’“, the screen splatters with white, semen-esque droplets. Oh, and then Eminem comes in comparing his penis to Godzilla. Yeah.

Is the song catchy? Kinda. Is it going to be a radio hit? Most likely. Should people be incredibly ashamed that this is what passes for popular mainstream tastes? One hundred precent yes. READ MORE

[Rant] Why I Hate The Grammy Awards

[Rant] Why I Hate The Grammy Awards
Disclaimer: I did not watch the Grammy Awards nor did I follow the goings on with any sense of scrutiny. These observations are purely personal in nature and might seem a tad disjointed.
Ah, the Grammy Awards. A celebration of the previous year in music. An opportunity for some of the most popular and well-respected musicians to come together and recognize the works of each other. It’s a time to see what true musicians have accomplished and enjoy the anticipation of what the next year will bring. It is also a time to aim the spotlight on up and coming artists who show great promise, ones that will add to the splendor that is music.
Oh wait, that’s what it should be. Instead, what we have is a big circle jerk where known musicians fawn over each other and the public gets to see more of what they’ve been seeing for the past year. Wonderful.
As you can tell, I have some serious issues with the Grammy Awards. So, I’m going to rant about them for a little bit! Warning: strong opinions lie below.

Slash Releases Video For ‘Beautiful Dangerous’

Slash has debuted a new music video for the song, ‘Beautiful Dangerous’, which features Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) on vocals. The video was directed by Rich Lee (Eminem, Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Evanescence) and is based on a treatment written by Fergie. Here are some quotes from Slash and Fergie:
“Fergie came up with the idea for the ‘Beautiful Dangerous’ video.  I knew that the way she had it set up it was going to be a showcase for her to be really fucking awesome,” said the legendary guitarist.

“Well, I really just wanted to stalk him.  I thought it would be great.  Just a normal day at the office really.  I’m going to have my way with him [in the video].  You’ll have to watch,” said Fergie.  ”I thoroughly enjoyed playing the psychotic character.”

“If you’re going to be stalked by anybody, there’s nobody better to be stalked by then Fergie,” added Slash.

Eminem Spinning ‘Shady Talez’

Are you kidding me? From the mind of international Pop-Star, multi-Grammy winner, and the top selling artist of 2009 Eminem, comes the new horror franchise Shady Talez, a fictional horror comic-book that literally sucks it’s reader into it’s very pages. Each horror story is a wink at an original classic such as Christine, Aliens, and The Lost Boys while Eminem puts his own dark spin on the genre playing multiple characters and introducing new stories to the new horror generation. Kevin Grevioux (Underworld franchise) is penning the screenplay.
