Pop Evil Stream New Song “Trenches”

Grand Rapids, MI hard rock band Pop Evil have released a stream of their new single “Trenches”, which comes from their upcoming fourth studio album Onxy (out May 14th via eOne).

Singer Leigh Kakaty comments, “It’s about our battles. Not focusing on the things we can’t control, if we really want to be a band that stands the test of time we have to write the music that connects. We have to dig our way out of the trenches.”

You can listen to the song below. READ MORE

[Sundance '13] eOne Gobbles Up ‘We Are What We Are’

Another horror sale has come in from Sundance, this time it’s Stake Land director Jim Mickle’s We Are What We Are (review here). It’s a remake of Mexican director Jorge Michel Grau’s picture about a family of cannibals that’s been moved from its original setting of Mexico City, to a poor part of the Catskills region in New York State.

eOne picked up the film, which was reportedly heatedly contested amongst bidders, for a low seven figures for the U.S. rights. eOne will role out the film to theaters in a platform formation.

In the film, “A devastating storm washes up clues that lead authorities closer and closer to the cannibalistic Parker family.” Cast includes Bill Sage, Ambyr Childers, Julia Garner, Michael Parks, Wyatt Russell and Kelly McGillis.

We’ll keep you posted on a release date!

New Kittie Video Has Zombies, Elements Of Evil Dead And South Park

A few days ago, we posted a teaser video for the new Kittie We Are The Lamb video. Promising zombies, gore, violence and metal, it was enough to get my attention piqued. Today brings the release of that video and it was definitely worth the few days of anticipation! Full of elements from Evil Dead and South Park (I wonder if the worcestershire sauce had anything to do with it…), this video is cheeky and a great nod to horror fans. Check it out after the jump and let me know your thoughts!

New Darkest Hour Video Full Of Death, Destruction, And Mayhem

Darkest Hour have released a video for Love As A Weapon, which comes off their latest release The Human Romance. The video is a montage of explosions, crashes, natural disasters, genocide, decaying flesh, and more. Basically what we horror fans watch on a daily basis. Also, speaking of horror movies, I could swear that several of these clips are taken from horror films. Dare I say I think one of these clips was taken from the opening credits of the remake of The Hills Have Eyes?
The band has also released an instrumental version of the song on iTunes. Guitarist Mike Schleibaum states: “Attention geeks, shredders, stem junkies and Karaoke fanatics. We’re very stoked to offer you the instrumental version of The Human Romance. Feel free to download away and enjoy. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up the record then by all means start with the version that has our very own John Henry singing on it. After all it ain’t the DH with out the JH. These instrumentals will take you on one hell of an epic sonic journey so pick em both up, learn these words and scream your ass off with us at the shows!”

Check out the video after the jump and you’ll also find the remaining Summer Slaughter tour dates, which Darkest Hour is currently on. What a treat! READ MORE

Chimaira Release Video For ‘Year Of The Snake’

Ohio metal band Chimaira have released a video for Year of the Snake, which comes off their upcoming album The Age Of Hell. It’s a pretty awesome song and the video has some cool moments (when the microphone swings in front of the camera, it almost looks 3D), but I have a feeling that the album as a whole will be much more kickass.

The current line-up of Chimaira is also quite interesting as only three original members remain: Mark Hunter, Rob Arnold, and Matt DeVries. Emil Werstler and Sean Zatorsky of Daath have joined as bassist and keyboardist respectively and the band is rounded out by drummer Austin D’Amond (Bleed The Sky, The Elite).
Check out the video after the jump and tell me your favorite Chimaira song in the comments.
