[Interview] Catching Up With Dead Sara’s Emily Armstrong

About two weeks ago, I went with some friends to see Muse perform at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI. While they put on a pretty entertaining performance, the show was, in my opinion, stolen by the opening act, Los Angeles rockers Dead Sara. With fierce, driving riffs from guitarist Siouxsie Medley, thumping bass lines courtesy of Chris Null, Sean Friday’s thunderous drums, the band had the audience throwing their hands in the air and cheering wildly. Singer Emily Armstrong’s voice blasted the crowd, soaring high at points while other times taking on a raspy, ferocious, vicious snarl, ultimately ending up as a highlight to the performance.

Tonight is the band’s last show with Muse at Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay Resort.

Below you can find our exclusive one-on-one interview with Emily where we talk the tour with Muse, life on the road, and the future plans of the band. READ MORE

Dead Sara Release Video For “Lemon Scent”

LA rockers Dead Sara have released an official music video for “Lemon Scent”. The song comes from their self-titled debut album Dead Sara, which came out last year via Epic Records. The video shows singer/guitarist Emily Armstrong in a MMA style fist fight with guitarist Siouxsie Medley. The video then ends with an all out brawl that looks pretty painful. Check it out below.

I recently saw Dead Sara open up for Muse at the Joe Louis Arena and was blown away. Honestly, they put on a better show than Muse and with far less flair and style. They just played badass songs and had amazing stage presence, which is really all I need when I go to a show (although some pry never hurts). READ MORE

[Review] Lamb Of God ‘Resolution’

 [Review] Lamb Of God Resolution
Resolution is to Lamb Of God in the way that The Great Southern Trendkill is to Pantera. Let me set something straight really quick: I’m not saying this because they’re both “southern metal” bands. That actually has nothing to do with my comparison. Rather, it’s the attitude of the album. It’s the tones, the style, the lyrics. It’s the atmosphere. It’s the pervading sense of violence, rage, and, snaking its way in and out, the elements of beauty. Has Lamb Of God found a timeless classic on their hands or is this an album that will divide fans?
