The Frank Miller/Robert Rodriguez-directed Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was set to come out on October 4th, but will have to settle for August, 22nd 2014 instead. No reason has yet been given for the delay.
Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Juno Temple, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson, Michael Madsen, Jessica Alba, Jamie Chung, Dennis Haysbert, Crystal McCahill, Christopher Meloni, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Julia Garner, Eva Green and Stacy Keach all star in the film.
The sequel is about Dwight McCarthy planing to have his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy is trying to cope with Hartigan’s death. If this synopsis is still accurate I’m assuming he’ll be seen in flashback.
American History X‘s Stacy Keach has signed to portray a chief villain in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller from Miller’s screenplay.
Keach will play mob boss Wallenquist, described by Miller as “the one man who can’t be redeemed in Sin City. He is pure evil.”
Cast includes Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dennis Haysbert.
Production is under way at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.
The film will be released domestically by Dimension on October 4.
Julia Garner, pictured above, has joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which is now filming in Austin at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios, Deadline reports. Garner, an up-and-comer whose credits include Martha Marcy May Marlene, We Are What We Are and The Last Exorcism 2, will play a young stripper opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Johnny in the follow-up to 2005′s Sin City, adapted from Miller’s own graphic novel series.
Dark Shadows star Eva Green, pictured below, has also been cast as Ava Lord, the deadly muse Miller described as “every man’s most glorious dreams come true, she’s also every man’s darkest nightmares.” She replaces Angelina Jolie.
Also onboard for Dimension Films’ October 4, 2013 release are Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Dennis Haysbert, and Juno Temple, while Sin City vets Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Michael Madsen, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, and Clive Owen are returning. READ MORE
The original followed the life of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Depp, and his run-ins with various monsters, ghosts, and supernatural creatures.
The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He’s just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger – despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.
Wow. At first it was “the movie without a trailer.” Now, it’s the movie with so many trailers and clips I seriously don’t know how much is left undiscovered. Now Warner Bros. has released nine new clips from Dark Shadows. I kind of like what I see. At least it seems to have more drive than something like Alice In Wonderland.
Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Cloe Moretz, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath and Jonny Lee Miller all star. The film is of course directed by Tim Burton.
In theaters May 11, “The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He’s just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger – despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.”

Okay, Dark Shadows we know you exist! I’m actually not down on the movie – aside from he lame Alice Cooper joke – I have no real beef with any of the bus ads, character posters, standees, teasers, teasers for trailers, trailer, or TV spots. I’m actually kind of looking forward to this even though I’ve hated the last few Tim Burton films. But I’d say there’s a lot of awareness, wouldn’t you? Give those trailer cutters a break WB!
In theaters May 11 from director Tim Burton, “The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. Remember just a few short weeks ago when we were worried that there might never be a trailer for Dark Shadows? How quaint those days seem now as we’re drowning in a deluge of footage. For my money though, this still looks way better than Alice In Wonderland. Tim Burton’s latest arriving in theaters May 11. The original followed the life of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Johnny Depp in the rehash, and his run-ins with various monsters, ghosts, and supernatural creatures.

To go along with these 9 bus shelter posters, Warner Bros. Pictures has released another set of 9 one-sheets that depict all of Dark Shadows‘ colorful characters, along with the tagline: “Strange is relative.” I guess Barnabas Collins, played by Johnny Depp, isn’t the only thing bizarre in this modern take on the old spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

Warners has just aired a second TV spot for Dark Shadows, Tim Burton’s latest arriving in theaters May 11. The original followed the life of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Johnny Depp in the rehash, and his run-ins with various monsters, ghosts, and supernatural creatures.

It’s incredibly rare when I have a different reaction to a TV spot than I did with the original trailer. Frankly, I don’t recall it ever happening.
Warner Brothers used the NCAA tournament to unload their first Dark Shadows commercial, one that carries quite a bit of different footage than the film’s recently released trailer. In fact, it made me excited to see Tim Burton’s latest, which arrives in theaters May 11.
In addition to the below spot, we’ve also added a photo of a new theater standee that lets you become part of the family. Take a seat and snap a photo! You’ll also find a pair of new behind-the-scenes stills here.

The media blitz for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows is in full swing. We’ve had posters, images, multiple trailers and now we have a look at nine uber-colorful character one-sheets for the film. Tim Burton’s vampire version of Austin Powers?
With the HD version of the trailer arriving this afternoon being uploaded as we speak (still), right now international press has landed 30 hi-res images from Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, which can all be enjoyed by clicking any pictorial on display.
We’ve also just added the official one-sheet and proper version of the trailer, both of which are a bit hokey. I’m nervous that the film is trickling into “pop culture” territory with their (near) modern-day comedy. This could go very badly…
The original Gothic soap opera was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

“The Ellen Show”, yup, that’s the audience Warner Bros. is selling Dark Shadows to. Not us. The women who watch “Ellen.” Originally a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies, Tim Burton has put his spin on the tale featuring his typical cast of misfits including Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. With a release set for May 11, I’m starting to think we’re going to be highly disappointed with this film.

*Update: Images removed at the request of Warner Bros. Pictures.
Even more images from Dark Shadows have emerged, and I have to say these are some of my favorites. It’s nice getting a better look at Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Chloe Grace Moretz. What we still don’t have? A trailer that indicates if this film has the campy lilt in its step that’s been missing from Burton’s recent work.

Directed by Tim Burton, the adaptation of the TV soap hits theaters May 11, 2012. That really does make it seriously weird that there isn’t a trailer yet. Though we do have almost enough images to cut our own!

Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows could either be a glorious return to form or an even deeper retreat into his hermetically sealed safety zone. I haven’t been a fan of much of his recent work, but sometimes people needs to crank out a few duds before they remember why they loved making films in the first place.
So while the emerging imagery of Depp as Collins looks pretty cool, it also looks like standard Burton. Aesthetically, we know that’s what this movie will be. Let’s just hope the storytelling portion of his skill set is reinvigorated.

Back in June we reported on a rumor that Alice Cooper may be taking a cameo in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. Now it seems that rumor has been confirmed by the man himself.
Per the LA Times, “Cooper was equally impressed walking through the huge, elaborate sets of “Dark Shadows,” the Warner Bros. film that stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter and reaches theaters in May 2012. ‘They should take that set and make it a haunted house next year,’ Cooper said of the Pinewood Studios constructs that include a sprawling gothic mansion and a harbor city complete with pier and boats floating in an artificial ocean. Cooper plays himself in the film, which is set in 1972 – Depp’s character, the recently revived vampire Barnabas Collins, hires the rock star to play a private ball at his seaside home in Maine.”

One image displays a pretty cool look at Depp as Barnabas Collins with blood on his hands, with the other showing just how beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer still is. The site also scored the official plot crunch:
