From The Host‘s Bong Joon-ho comes Snowpiercer, a heavily dystopian sci-fi film from Dimension that I’m getting super excited about. These character posters are ok, but it’s the concept that intrigues me the most.
The post-apocalyptic thriller stars Captain America‘s Chris Evans, as well as Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Song Kang-ho, Ewen Bremner and Kenny Doughty.

From The Host‘s Bong Joon-ho comes Snowpiercer, a Dimension film we’ve been talking about for quite some time but have seen frustratingly little of. We’ve gotten some concept art, a few stills and some snippets of the score – but it still feels very far off. Now we can add a little bit to the pile – neat promo passports for the cast and crew of the film! They’re pretty cool – but I’m itching for a trailer.
Being sold by the Weinstein Company at the ongoing EFM, the post-apocalyptic thriller stars Captain America‘s Chris Evans, as well as Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Song Kang-ho, Ewen Bremner and Kenny Doughty.

Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Song Kang-ho, Ewen Bremner John Hurt and Ed Harris star in The Host director Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer. A few weeks back we delivered some concept art and a poster for the film and now we have the first official still (via The Film Stage). In it, Song Kang-ho’s character appears to be carrying someone to safety. One could assume he’s from the steerage portion of this class-divided train.
Produced by Oldboy helmer Park Chan-wook, Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic thriller set in a world covered in snow and ice, story follows a train full of travelers who struggle to co-exist.

I’d almost forgotten about this one. Which is weird considering the cast and the director. Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner John Hurt and Ed Harris in The Host director Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer. We’d done some reporting on this right around the time I started in 2011 and now we’re finally getting some interesting stuff (via The Film Stage) like a teaser poster, some concept art and even a snippet of the score!

Director Bong Joon-ho’s (The Host) Snow Piercer was picked up at AFM by The Weinstein Company, per Deadline. “The Weinstein Company has picked up the English-language rights to the thriller Snow Piercer from South Korea’s CJ Entertainment. Made at this year’s AFM, the deal for the multiple territory acquisition of the future-set film was in the seven figures. ”
Budgeted at roughly $39.2m (KW45bn), Snow Piercer will be Korea’s most expensive film by far. Kang Je-gyu’s war movie My Way currently holds the record with a $24.5m (KW28bn) budget. The film, based on the graphic novel “Le Transperceneige”, “is set in the not too distant future where a new Ice Age has wiped out most of the human race. With a revolt brewing onboard, the Snow Piercer is a train of Earth’s lone survivors that travels around the cold world.”
The film stars Chris Evans (pictured above), John Hurt, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell and Ewen Bremner. Weinstein Company will distribute Snow Piercer in North America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. A summer 2013 release is “likely.”
Snatch, Trainspotting and Jack the Giant Killer star Ewen Bremner has booked a trip on the Snow Piercer, says Variety. Cast already includes Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton and Octavia Spencer.
The Host‘s Bong Joon-ho is helming the sci-fi thriller from a script he co-penned with Kelly Masterson; Park Chan-wook (Oldboy) is producing. Set in a world covered in snow and ice, the story follows a train full of travelers who struggle to co-exist. Bremner plays a father who joins forces with Evans’ character to save his kidnapped son.
