Thrash metal icons Metallica have announced that they will be releasing three official pinball machine models at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. The machines will be available to see at the Nuclear Blast Booth #503 from July 18th – 21st.
The machines will feature 12 classic tracks, including “Creeping Death,” “Master Of Puppets,” “Battery,” “One,” and “Fade To Black”.
“We are proud to release our newest music-themed game designed to capture the raw, rebellious nature of Metallica,” said Gary Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball, Inc.

Tomorrow is the release date for the fifth (and final) issue of Jeff Mariotte’s sub-par “FADE TO BLACK” story. The series had a lot of promise, but always seemed to stumble instead of break into a full sprint, but for those of you who DID enjoy this little story from Image Comics you can make the jump and read the full 5 page preview. If you find yourselves keeping up with Jeff Mariotte’s continuing “FADE TO BLACK” story about a group of actors who struggle to save one of their own from a group of flesh hungry cannibals, then you have more patience than I. So for those of you that are still along for the ride you can make the jump and read the first 5 pages of the title before it goes on sale this Wednesday. Read on for the skinny.
Back when it was first announced that publisher Image Comics would be making a foray into the sub-genre of cannibalism I was pretty excited. Then I found out that it was a “movie set massacre” story, and I got less excited. But to be fair the series hasn’t been all that bad, albeit a mixed bag. However, that hasn’t hampered it from garnering a steady fan base, and inside you can read the first 5 pages of the third issue that drops tomorrow. Read on for the skinny.
When we brought you our initial preview of Image Comics upcoming desert cannibal genre entry ‘FADE TO BLACK’ it was met with a lot of positive feedback. So for those of you who are still looking forward to the March 17th release date of the book here are the first 4 pages to tide you over until it hits stands. “FADE TO BLACK is an object lesson in not accepting anything at face value. What at first appears to be five young people on a wilderness trek experience turns out to be something very different. On their own, with no specialized training or skills, our five heroes need to figure out how to survive… or not.”
I know it’s still very early on in the year, but with the announcements of so many new titles surfacing this past month, along with the news that AMC has green-lit a Frank Darabont directed “WALKING DEAD” pilot, I think it’s safe to say that this is the biggest year in horror comics in recent memory. And as if the news of said pilot wasn’t enough for literary gore-hounds everywhere, below you will find the preview of Image’s newest horror mini-series “FADE TO BLACK”. Read on for the skinny.
