“Porcelain: A Gothic Fairy Tale” was initially a limited UK indie release which sold in a month’s time. Now being distributed by Improper Books, the graphic novel is available for pre-order from Diamond and is expected to release in July.
“Porcelain” is written by Benjamin Read, illustrated by Chris Wildgoose, coloured by André May, and lettered by Jim Campbell. The story takes place in a small section of dark magical world. It follows the story of a street girl known simply Child, who ventures into the infamous Porcelain Maker’s secret garden in a bid to steal whatever she can. As you can imagine, she finds more than she bargained for. We’ll have a review up soon. READ MORE
So. According to Variety, Ryan Gosling (Drive, Gangster Squad) is making his writing/directing debut with How To Catch A Monster, which is described as a dark fairy tale. And it’s gonna star Christina Hendricks (Drive, “Mad Men”).
Will it be good? I have no idea! The film is “ is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.”
Sierra/Affinity will handle international sales for the film, which will be made available at next week’s Toronto Film Festival. Principal photography is to begin in spring. Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce on behalf of Marc Platt Prods., along with Gosling via his Phantasma Films banner, and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster via the Bold Films banner.
Sounds like it could be kinda 80′s and cool? What do you think?
