The trailer for the first season of the Eli Roth’s Hemlock Grove has it the web. It actually looks like it could be pretty good! I dig the tone, it’s almost like what would happen if “True Blood” actually had a sense of menace (with a little bit of “Twin Peaks” thrown in)!

The pilot was directed by Eli Roth and co-written by Brian McGreevy. Dougray Scott and Famke Janssen also star in this new television series that will premiere exclusively on Netflix.

“Revolves around the murder of a young girl found close to the former Godfrey steel mill. The suspects in her killing include Peter (Landon Liboiron), a 17-year-old Gypsy kid from the wrong side of the tracks, and Roman (Bill Skarsgard), the arrogant Godfrey Scion, whose sister Shelley is disturbingly deformed and whose mother, Olivia (Janssen), is the beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove.”

Paramount has provided Collider with the second red band trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which comes from Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola. The most interesting part of the trailer is the amount of gore, and the addition of the film not being rated yet. It looks like an R is on the horizon.

Paramount Pictures will move Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters to January 25, 2013 in order to get the film on IMAX screens.

Starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen, the footage looks crazy cheesy, but also crazy fun. We can only hope that this makes right what happened with the lame Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I totally dig these original retellings and want more.

With a date still to be set, Netflix has unveiled the artwork for their original series “Hemlock Grove“, from Hotel and Cabin Fever director Eli Roth. The show, “Revolves around the murder of a young girl found close to the former Godfrey steel mill. The suspects in her killing include Peter (Landon Liboiron), a 17-year-old Gypsy kid from the wrong side of the tracks, and Roman (Skarsgard), the arrogant Godfrey Scion, whose sister Shelley is disturbingly deformed and whose mother, Olivia (Janssen), is the beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove.” Dougray Scott, Famke Janssen, Landon Liboiron and Bill Skarsgard all star.

TVLine adds that Ellen Greene (pictured), who played one of Chuck’s shut-in aunts on Bryan Fuller‘s “Pushing Daisies,” is reuniting with the show’s creator on his new gig “Hannibal.” Greene will take on the recurring role of Mrs. Komeda, a novelist and member of Boston’s cultural elite. She’s also a pal of the titular cannibal, Dr. Lecter (played by Casino Royale‘s Mads Mikkelsen) which should protect her from becoming his lunch. Musicvideo and commercials helmer Anthony Mandler is attached to direct Lionsgate’s Dead of Winter, a Black List thriller written by tyro scribe Sarah Conradt that has Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) attached to star, reports Variety from a scoop right here on Bloody Disgusting back in February. “Steinfeld is slated to play a teen who heads to a remote cabin in the mountains with her father and new stepmother — an experience he hopes will bring the two ladies closer together. When a dangerous fugitive posing as a park ranger shows up, the trio must put aside the family bonding to fight for survival.” Producers are aiming for an early 2013 start date.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Rosamund Pike (Doom, Wrath of the Titans, Die Another Day) has joined The World’s End alongside Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Edgar Wright directs the pic that starts 20 years after five childhood friends attempted an epic pub crawl. The friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. It leads into a horrific adventure.

Jonathan Daniel Brown, one of the breakout stars of Project X, is joining the cast of the New Artists Alliance’s horror comedy Milo, says THR. Ken Marino, Gillian Jacobs and Peter Stormare make up the cast of the pic, which “Centers on a man (Marino) with intense stomach trouble who learns to his horror that he has a demon living in his intestines. When he gives it permission to come out during a therapy session, the man names it Milo and tries to live a life in which he, not his demon, is in charge.” Brown will play an intern who works for Marino. Jacob Vaughan is making his directorial debut on the pic, which the Duplass brothers are exec producing.

Collider has some of the most pointless news of the week as they confirmed with Paramount that their long-delayed Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D, in theaters January 11, 2013, will in fact be rated “R”. The original take on the classic fairytale, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, is set 15 years after the siblings killed the witch who kidnapped them. Hansel and Gretel have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches.

Bait 3D now has a Dutch poster. It will arrive September 18 on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack from Anchor Bay. “This 3D thriller tells the story of a group of survivors in a sleepy beach town who suddenly find themselves trapped inside a submerged supermarket, following a freak tsunami.” Xavier Samuel, Sharni Vinson (You’re Next), Alex Russell (Chronicle), and Julian McMahon star.

Lili Taylor (pictured above; The Conjuring) has joined leads Dougray Scott and Famke Janssen in Netflix’s new original series “Hemlock Grove”, from executive producer Eli Roth and Gaumont International TV. Landon Liboiron is going from a time traveling sci-fi drama to a horror series as the former “Terra Nova” co-star has been tapped to join Netflix’s original series “Hemlock Grove,” THR has learned exclusively.

From director/executive producer Eli Roth, the 13-episode horror series is “set in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town and begins with the discovery of a young girl’s body. As the crime goes unsolved and outlandish rumors mount, Roman (Bill Skarsgard) and Peter decide to find the killer on their own, confronting unspeakable truths about themselves and Hemlock Grove as the mystery unfolds.”

Framke Janssen is set to play Olivia, the otherworldly beautiful and controlling grande dame of Hemlock Grove. The Peter role has not been cast.

Netflix will make the first season of Hemlock Grove instantly available in early 2013.

Based on the book of the same name by Brian McGreevy, he will write and executive produce the series alongside EPs Eric Newman (The Last Exorcism, Dawn of the Dead), Lee Shipman (Harker, Zorro Reborn), Michael Connolly (How to Train Your Dragon) and Mark Verheiden (“Battlestar Gallactica”). TV: Famke Janssen Moves Into Netflixs Hemlock Grove

Variety is reporting that the beautiful Famke Janssen (100 Feet, X-Men, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) and Bill Skarsgard will both topline Eli Roth’s gothic mystery Netflix series, “Hemlock Grove,” which is to be both written and directed by the man behind Cabin Fever and Hostel.

Netflix’s latest foray into original programming is based on the novel by Brian McGreevy. The 13-episode skein will be available to Netflix subscribers in early 2013.

“‘Hemlock Grove’ centers around the murder of a young girl in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town.”

Gaumont International Television is producing.

First Look: Paramounts Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D

In theaters March 2, 2012 from Paramount Pictures’ is Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola’s twisted spin Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D, which stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the title characters.

Word on the street is that this flick is good, like really good. It’s an original take on the classic fairytale that is set 15 years after the siblings killed the witch who kidnapped them. Hansel and Gretel have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches.

EW premiered the first ever image of both Renner and Arterton in the flick, with the promise of a trailer premiere next Thursday.

“You see a series of flashbacks with their experience of killing that first witch, which is brilliant,” Arterton says of continuing Grimm’s fairytale in flashback form. “The candy house, and the witches are really repulsive and quite frightening. Bloody Disgusting regular “Kevin M” just emailed us with some pretty exciting news from the land of candy-built houses.

Ingrid Bolsø Berdal of the Fritt Vilt (Cold Prey) franchise has been cast as “one of the Witches” in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D. Kevin tells us that she will be wearing some cool prosthetics, and describes her Witch as being “superbad” and “a hardcore killing machine.”

She joins previously announced Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, and Famke Janssen in the fairytale retelling by Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola.

Paramount Pictures knows what I want for my birthday as they’ve locked in a March 2, 2012 release for Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which will now be filmed in 3-D.

Starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, and Famke Janssen, the original take on the classic fairytale is set 15 years after the siblings killed the witch who kidnapped them. Hansel and Gretel have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches.

In other release news, Dimension Films might have actually sat down and watched Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein’s Shelter as the film was pulled from its planned February 25 release. No new date was given.

Already in stores overseas, the Julianne Moore-starrer follows a female forensic psychiatrist who specializes in debunking multiple personality disorder. When she discovers that her latest patient’s various personalities are all murder victims, she struggles to find a logical explanation for the man’s delusion.

Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner star in the title roles, it can only be assumed that Janssen will portray a witch? I hope a crazy hot witch….

Playlist adds that the studio is working furiously to get the movie in production by the March 7 start date.
