Tomahawk, the undefinable band featuring Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mondo Cane), Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), Trevor Dunn (Fantomas, Melvins Lite), and John Stanier (Helmet), is back after five years. The group is planning on releasing a new album entitled Oddfellows in January and will be doing their first live performance in nine years at the New Orlean’s Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in October. The group plans on announcing more tour dates in the near future.
Regarding Oddfellows, Denison says, “It’s dark and claustrophobic here, light and spacious there. Live in the studio, all together in one room. Oddfellows indeed.”

With a history as long and influential as The Melvins, it’s worth paying attention when a new album comes out. Now, under the moniker Melvins Lite (which features Buzz Osborne on guitars/vocals, Dale Crover on drums, and Mr. Bungle/Fantômas bassist Trevor Dunn), the group is releasing Freak Puke, the first album since 2004’s Pigs of the Roman Empire to feature a different line-up than the current four-piece (Osborne, Crover, Jared Warren (bass), Coady Willis (drums)). So how does this 18th studio album fare? Read on for the answer! READ MORE
The PRP is reporting that Fantomas, the insanely awesome Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More) project, will be releasing The Director’s Cut: A New Year’s Revolution DVD on Sept. 6th. The 2001 album features covers of some of the most beloved horror themes in history, including The Omen, Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, and many more. You bet your ass I’m going to pick this up and enjoy every second of Mike Patton’s terrifying shrieks hurled at me.
