It’s the end of 2013 and there have been a slew of amazing albums released this year! And because of this, it was no easy task to create a “Best Of” list. To quote Lonmonster, “Narrowing down a best-of-the-year list is a trite exercise, as is ordering them in some sort of countdown…” I found that I was simply unable to narrow my list down to 10 albums as there were too many that kept vying for a spot. Also, in a move that might scream “lazy” to some, I didn’t rank my choices. The reason for this is that my list is just too diverse. I can’t really rank an electronic album against a metal album, can I?
So, I guess the next step is simply to give you all the chance to read my choices and then let me know which albums stood out for you! Head on down and let the music flow! READ MORE

Filthy Empire, the debut album from UK rockers Heaven’s Basement, has only just come out but it’s already making waves and causing a stir. In my own review, I heralded the band as the Guns N’ Roses of the 21st century and that’s a claim that I’m not going to back down from any time soon. It’s not fair to say that they have an element of danger about them. Instead, it’s more appropriate to say that this band is like an action movie exploding left and right without a single care as to what is in its path.
To celebrate the release of Filthy Empire, we landed an exclusive interview and drummer Chris Rivers where we chat the new album, future plans, and what it means to be signed to Red Bull Records. Check out the interview and their latest video for “I Am Electric” below. READ MORE
For as much of a prog-rock and prog-metal fan as I am there are some days when I want some music that cuts straight to the point and rocks out. When I was first introduced to Heaven’s Basement, I thought to myself, “This could be one of those bands. This could be a group that gets my blood boiling in a way that only the balls-out-arena-rock groups of the late 80’s/early 90’s were able to do.” After all, “Fire, Fire” fit all the criteria I could’ve asked for and more.
So once I got my grubby little mitts on Filthy Empire, their debut full length album, I immediately sank my teeth into it and blasted it at near unacceptable levels. But did the rest of the album meet my expectations and fulfill my desires? Head on below to find out. READ MORE

I…I hear something. It’s close but I can’t see where it is. Is it…could it be? Oh, dear god! It is! It’s another Twisted Music Video Of The Week!
This week I’m bring you a band called Heaven’s Basement and their video for “Fire, Fire”, which comes off the upcoming debut album Filthy Empire. The album, which has no set release date aside from “early 2013″ and will be released via Red Bull Records, was produced by John Feldman (The Used, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides). The video shows the band rocking out in front of a pile of tires (correction: a HUGE pile of tires) while clips of actual riots, forest fires, explosions, floods, and more are interspersed. You can check out the video below.
The song is pretty damn awesome. It’s a catchy “arena hard rock” track that hearkens back to days when a hard rock song was just plain old fun. You can also download the song for free by ‘Liking’ the band’s Official Facebook page here. READ MORE
