Five Finger Death Punch Fights Suicide In New Video For “Coming Down”

Five Finger Death Punch just released a video for “Coming Down”, which comes off their latest album American Capitalist (review). The video shows two teens, horribly bullied (both in real life and in the cyber world), who fight the urge to take their own lives. You can watch the video below.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory (interview) explains, “Through support and awareness, suicide can be prevented. Five Finger Death Punch is promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to build awareness that there is support out there for those in need through the Lifeline’s service, and others. This is an important initiative we have taken on to place it on the consciousness of the public that you are not alone when in need.”

The band will also be embarking on the Trespass America tour with Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Pop Evil, Emmure, God Forbid, and Battlecross. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to provide for the National Suicide Hotline crisis call centers. Tour dates are below. READ MORE

Five Finger Death Punch Set To Headline Trespass America Festival

Battlecross, God Forbid, Emmure, Trivium, Pop Evil, Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch. That is quite an impressive lineup for the inaugural year of the Trespass America music festival! Sponsored by Metal Hammer magazine, the tour will start in mid July and run through until the end of August, hitting many of the major spots while still stopping by a few of the more “out of the way” destinations.

Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory states, “We will carry the flag into mainstream territory; we will trespass on their turf all across America. The combined power of Metal Hammer and all these bands enable us to make a statement, a really loud one. Heavy music wants its place back in the limelight, so get ready, because we are coming, and we are coming in numbers.”

[Original] Why The Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show Isn’t Helping Metal

On April 11th, the Revolver Golden Gods took place, giving praise and recognition to the rock and metal community. Famous musicians, such as Dee Snider, Chris Jericho, Gene Simmons, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Amy Lee, and many more, were in attendance. It was a night meant to not only celebrate the achievements of rock and metal musicians and their offerings, but it was also a night for the fans, a way to honor their passion and their love. And it was a night that did absolutely nothing to spread the word and the importance of rock and metal. READ MORE

[Review] Adrenaline Mob ‘Omertá’

 [Review] Adrenaline Mob Omertá
Comprised of some of the most talented musicians in the rock/metal scene, Adrenaline Mob has a lot going for it. After all, it’s Mike Portnoy (ex-drummer of Dream Theater), Russell Allen (singer of Symphony X), John Moyer (bassist of Disturbed), and guitarist Mike Orlando. With that kind of line-up, you gotta wonder what the final product is going to sound like. Dream Theater and Symphony X? Hell yeah! It’s gonna be some intense prog metal! But wait, Disturbed? So, it’s gonna have some commercial heavy rock appeal? And Mike Orlando, who played with Zakk Wylde and Bumblefoot, which means we’ll likely hear some shredding.
Is this the final product? Is this the sound that the band delivers? And, ultimately, is it all worth it? Find out below.

Five Finger Death Punch Announce West Coast Tour

Five Finger Death Punch Announce West Coast Tour

Hard rock band Five Finger Death Punch will be embarking on a US/Canadian west coast tour beginning in March. The 14-date trek begins in Las Vegas, NV and ends in Casper, WY. The band is touring in support of their latest release, American Capitalist (review). Support on these dates will come from Soulfly, Windowpane, and Persist.

Singer Ivan Moody shared, “The few times we’ve been to Canada it’s been absolutely phenomenal. The fact that we get to take a band like Soulfly with us on a tour like this says it all. This is going to be one hell of a great time, in no uncertain terms.”
Guitarist Zoltán Báthory added, “We only played a handful of dates in Canada, but they were all sold-out so we are really looking forward to a headlining tour up there.  What makes it even sweeter is taking one of our favorite bands Soulfly with us on this trek. As we are playing bigger and bigger venues, I think it became our responsibility to help expose some great metal bands to our more diverse audience.”

Five Finger Death Punch Release New Song

Revolver Mag scored an exclusive stream of Under And Over It, the new song from Five Finger Death Punch, as well as an interview with vocalist Ivan Moody discussing this song in particular. Having listened to the track a few times, I’ll say that some things work really well for me and some things are just a bit much. I love the sound of the instruments and the overall feel of the song. It’s a pick-you-up-and-slam-you-down type of song. However, some of the lyrics are just so cliche/juvenile. They honestly made me wince a few times.

Check out the song after the jump and let me know your thoughts.

Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody To Record Voice Work For Dolor: Lila

Bloody-Disgusting contributor and pal Rick Florino has tapped Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody to record voice work for the upcoming audio book version of Dolor: Lila (Book 1). Florino has also announced the upcoming release of The Dolor Saga: Books I – V, which feature the previously unreleased books Decker and Cassie. The book is slated for release on May 5th, but Florino will be reading selections from the book Tuesday, March 22 from 8pm-11pm at The Hollywood Corner in Los Angeles (1156 N. Highland Ave.).

Five Finger Death Punchs Ivan Moody To Record Voice Work For Dolor: Lila
Here’s a comment from author Rick Florino: ”This new release finally fleshes out the intricacies and mythology of the town itself. The connections between each individual diary become clearer and the web of intrigue at the heart of Dolor slowly comes into focus. The characters cycle in and out, but the darkness, fear, anxiety, and evil all remain key elements in each story. Psychologically, Dolor exists in the space between the heinous things people do in real life and the unknown evil we fear in nightmares and that may or may not exist. The text is streamlined. Certain nuances have been changed, so Dolor readers will get a new experience in Books I-III in addition to two new books. This is the trip that I always meant for Dolor to be, and it’s only the beginning.”
You can pre-order the book for $6.66 (fitting price) from the Official Dolor Website as well as get an Amazon Kindle version here. Also, make sure to keep up-to-date with Five Finger Death Punch through their Official Website, MySpace, and Facebook.
