House of Horror (James Wan’s)

Revolves around a police officer (Grillo) and a psychologist (Bello) investigating the deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon a ghost.

The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello), question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants, but with the house itself. James Wan’s ‘House of Horror’ Finds Ghost Hunting Hottie

Cody Horn, star of End of Watch, one of my personal fav films of 2012, has signed on to star alongside Maria Bello and Frank Grillo in “The Untitled James Wan Thriller” for Dimension, says THR.

The film, formerly House of Horror, is being directed by Will Cannon and produced by Wan and Lee Clay.

Wan, director of Saw, Dead Silence, Insidious and the forthcoming The Conjuring, wrote the story that revolves around a police officer (Grillo) and a psychologist (Bello) investigating the deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon a ghost.

Horn, who enjoyed a breakout year with star turns in Magic Mike and End of Watch, will play a ghost hunter.

The film starts shooting next week in Baton Rouge.

The film apparently screened for critics and the result was overwhelmingly positive. So much so that Open Road created a third trailer featuring new footage and loads of quotes. My personal favorite: “It’s a man’s man’s movie.” Unlike 300, this appears to be a true statement.
