[BD Review] Brad Digs ‘Antiviral’ And Two Lucky Winners Can Watch It For Free!!!

SundanceNOW and IFC Midnight’s Antiviral, directed by Brandon Cronenberg, opens on VOD and in limited theaters this Today, April 12th. So we figured we’d do two things, the first of which is to remind you to read Mr. Disgusting’s review (excerpted here),”The expectations may have been unfairly high (being the son of a legend demands some sort of competence), yet he surpasses them by delivering a deep, engaging, and beautifully shot art house horror film.

The second thing is a quick mini-contest. We’re giving TWO lucky readers the chance to watch the film on SundanceNOW for free! Just email [email protected] with your favorite David Cronenberg movie. I’ll hit the winners back on Monday with their passes so they can watch the movie.

Caleb Landry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Malcolm McDowell, Douglas Smith, Matt Watts and James Cade all star in the film. Click here to read the review in its entirety, then write your own.

UPDATE: This contest is now closed. Big thanks to everyone who participated!

The first season of Telltale Games’ consistently amazing The Walking Dead ended with a bang last week, bringing an emotionally charged end to one of the most engaging video games I’ve played this year. That’s not it for the series, as Telltale’s confirmed they have plans for a season two and the retail bundle will be out on Dec 4th. If you haven’t had the chance to play The Walking Dead yet or are too impatient to wait for it to come to retail, boy, do I have a deal for you. Dark Horse Offers A Free Digital Issue Of ‘The Goon’

Dark Horse Comics is offering up a free digital issue of Eric Powell’s The Goon in an effort to promote the recent ongoing status of the series. Brian K. Vaughn says of “The Goon”, “At its heart, the book is about a dark man with a broken heart who realizes that all we have in this wretched world are our friends . . . and we’re probably gonna take them down with us. That right there is the kind of horror that’s way scarier than zombie priests or mad scientists or even bog lurks. Check Out ‘Killer Joe’ For Free In Orlando

I’ve heard nothing but glowing things about William Friedkin’s Killer Joe, making it one of the only films I’m even interested in for the rest of 2012. I’m rarely disappointed with Friedkin’s work – I even have a quasi-soft spot for The Guardian, which is an entertaining mess in parts – and the fact that he’s working from script by Tracy Letts (based on his own play) makes me even more jazzed to see it.

If you live in Orlando and share my enthusiasm, you’re in luck. Bloody-Disgusting has a few GOFOBO codes for an early screening of the film at Regal Winter Park on Wednesday, August 22nd at 7:30 pm. To snag a pass, all you have to do is log into your account on GOFOBO (or sign up if you haven’t) and enter the following code: BLOODZ9YF. That’s it!

Make sure to check out some great interviews for the film conducted by our very own Evan Dickson here, here, and here.

When 22-year-old Chris (Emile Hirsch) finds himself in debt to a drug lord, he hires a hit man to dispatch his mother, whose $50,000 life insurance policy benefits his sister Dottie (Juno Temple). Chris finds Joe Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a creepy, crazy Dallas cop who moonlights as a contract killer. When Chris can’t pay Joe upfront, Joe sets his sight on Dottie as collateral for the job. The contract killer and his hostage develop an unusual bond. Like from a modern-day, twisted fairy tale, “Killer Joe” Cooper becomes the prince to Dottie’s Cinderella.” The film also stars Matthew McConaughey, Juno Temple, Thomas Haden Church and Gina Gershon.

Metro 2033 Giveaway: What Do You Fear?

There can never be enough post-apocalyptic games set in a labyrinthine maze of tunnels below Moscow, I always say. In case you missed it back in 2010, we’re giving away three Xbox Live codes for Metro 2033–one of the most brilliantly atmospheric survival horror games I’ve ever played. It’s haunting and bleak, and it’s a game you really shouldn’t miss. As per usual, entering to win one of these codes is easy peasy; all you need to do is comment on this article telling me what you fear the most about living in an apocalyptic mutant-infested wasteland. Is it the idea of starving to death? Dying slowly of radiation poisoning? The creatures who live on the surface, itching for a chance to tear you apart? Or perhaps it’s the idea of living a life without your game console of choice? Let me know!

All Uncharted 2 DLC Is Available For The Price Of “On The House”

Remember the good old days when eventually Bungie would make their multiplayer maps free? Well guess what, THOSE DAYS ARE OVER. Companies want your money, and they want it bad. You know back when Nintendo and Super Nintendo were around, you could normally pay 60-100 dollars per game. Well, most games now are stuck on a 60 dollar price point. Clearly that isn’t enough. With some games you’re looking to spend at least 100 dollars over the life of the game to get all the DLC. If you have the patience you’re better off waiting for a game of the year edition or for a dramatic price drop. Well, amidst the ashes of all your wasted money, Uncharted developer Naughty Dog and Sony have decided to let you have all of the DLC for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for free. Head past the break for the DLC list.
