Capcom Confirms ‘Resident Evil 6′ Coming To PC In March, Unveils New “Siege” Mode For Consoles

It took a little longer than expected, but come March 22, Resident Evil 6 will finally make its way to the PC. Since you’ve been so patient, Capcom has included a variant of the Mercenaries mode, dubbed “No Mercy,” which will be exclusive to the PC version of the game. Basically, it throws more enemies as you. The PC version will also bring with it the tweaks made in the recent console updates. Capcom also revealed a new mode that will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game that sounds an awful lot like an escort mission you can experience with your friends. See that in action after the break.

Feast Your Eyes On Nine Wonderful Minutes Of ‘Dead Island: Riptide’ Gameplay Footage

Deep Silver shared some Dead Island: Riptide gameplay footage with IGN today and outside of a few new features like a boat you can drive around the flooded island and hubs you have to defend, it looks like what you would expect from a Dead Island game. Bashing, slicing, kicking, and stomping on the undead until they’re nothing but piles of mush and giblets at your feet is still very much the focus. After the jump you can watch the game’s creative producer scavenge mounted guns from a crashed helicopter and use them to fortify a hub from waves of zombies in a Left 4 Dead style crescendo moment.

I like the new feature — it’s something I politely requested back in August — though I can’t say I’m too enthusiastic about the fact that if one survivor dies then you fail the mission. Why not just let them die? It makes me care more about them as fellow survivors, while forcing me to protect them because I’ll have to start over if I don’t will only make me hate them. Actually, forget it. It’s too late, I hate them already.

The Fight For The Title Of Baddest Motherf**kers In The Galaxy Begins In This New ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ Trailer

I recently had myself a spectacular Aliens marathon — yes, I even watched Resurrection again — in order to prepar my mind, body, and soul for Aliens: Colonial Marines. I think it was successful, but I won’t know for sure until I get it in my hands next month. Developed by Borderlands developer Gearbox Software, Colonial Marines looks like an Aliens game. That’s important. It also looks freaky as hell, at least from the perspective of the marines. Check out a brand new trailer for it, after the break.

How Will ‘Resident Evil: Revelations’ Look On Consoles? Wonder No More

In case you missed it, earlier today Capcom confirmed that the previously Nintendo 3DS exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations is indeed coming to consoles. All of them, in fact. On May 21st, Revelations will hit the retail and digital space on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. It’ll also run you a pretty penny, or 4,999 of them ($49.99). That’s a lot for a port of a year-old handheld game, even if it’s a good game. I was hoping there would be more to this port and that Capcom wasn’t trying to recoup some of the money they lost on Resident Evil 6, and it looks like this will bring the goods.

Visually, it looks noticeably better than the 3DS version, even if it still won’t be mistaken for similarly priced games, and it will come with several new additions, including a playable HUNK, a harder difficulty setting, and new weapons and custom parts. After the jump I have a trailer and a still very wet batch of screenshots for your viewing pleasure.

‘Black Ops II’ Revolution DLC Brings Us One Step Closer To Getting A Standalone ‘Call Of Duty’ Zombie Game

Seriously, Treyarch, let’s drop this charade. You know it, and I know it — you need to develop a standalone zombie game. Activision recently unveiled some details on the next expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, dubbed Revolution. Unlike the DLC for the previous games in the series, Revolution brings with it a brand zombie spanking new game mode called Turned. In it, players will finally be given the opportunity to play as the undead, who must hunt the lone human. The zombie that takes the poor sap down becomes human and has to defend against the coming hordes. Looks like good fun.

The DLC also adds a bunch of maps, including one called Die Rise, which takes place inside a damaged skyscraper. It’ll have a focus on verticality, so watch your footing when you’re high up. Check out a video preview of the upcoming DLC, after the jump.

Not Everyone Is Coming Back Alive In This New ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ Trailer

Borderlands developer Gearbox Software is hard at work on what will hopefully be a good game based in the Aliens universe — it’s been too long since we’ve had one of those — with the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines. It looks creepy enough, and focuses on what made the films so terrifying: namely, the creepy, claustrophobic environments and the knowledge that something is totally hunting you. Check out a brand new story trailer, after the jump.

Remember That Trailer For ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’? Yep, That’s A Fake

It would seem I have been duped. If you remember that bland looking trailer that was “officially” released to promote Activision’s upcoming game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, it has been confirmed by Dan Amrich, Activision’s social media manager, to be from an early build of the game. It is gameplay that was taken from the actual game, but it was from a preview build that wasn’t meant to be used as promotional material. Good thing, too. Hopefully it’ll blow us all away when the real trailer is revealed.

Here’s A ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Gameplay Trailer, Now With Eerie Music!

In case you missed the first The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct gameplay footage that made its debut last week, now it’s been compiled together and set to some eerie background music, which sounds a lot like John Murphy’s amazing score for 28 Days Later, by the way. I didn’t notice it the first time I watched this gameplay, but those zombies look like dolls. The plastic hair, stone faces, the way they move… if this trailer is supposed to give us a taste of how the game will look, I’m a little worried. Check it out after the jump.

This Unearthed Footage From Long Dead ‘Primal Rage 2′ Threatens To Ruin My Childhood

I have something I admit. Back in the day, I loved Primal Rage. Whether that love was founded on a younger me’s poor taste in video games or because I was obsessed with dinosaurs (because they’re awesome), I can’t be sure which, but I loved that game. I played it religiously, usually as Vertigo or Diablo, and I was damn good. I’m sure if I were to play it today, all my fond childhood memories of the game would be ruined, just like how Diablo uses his super cool Incinerator fatality to ruin his opponent’s day by flaying the flesh off their bones. Until today, I was bummed the game never got a sequel. Thankfully, Youtube user raydude has shown me what an atrocity Primal Rage 2 would’ve been had it ever seen the light of day. See it in action after the break.

Watch A Guy Bludgeon A Zombie To Death In This New ‘State Of Decay’ Video

With The Walking Dead, Day Z and The War Z still fresh on our minds, I would understand if you had forgotten about Undead Labs’ upcoming take on the bustling zombie genre. Coming next year is their open-world title called State of Decay (formerly Class3). The XBLA exclusive focuses more on survival, stealth, and evading the undead. Every decision you make will shape the world around you, and it will even let you build bases, which you will need to fortify and defend from the zombie hordes. In this new video, we see a guy beat the crap out of a handful of zombies that are surrounding a gas station so he can search the building for supplies. Then he calls in a few friends to come raid the place. It looks neat. See it in action after the jump.

First Gameplay Footage From ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Surfaces

If you’re jonesing for more of that delicious undead action that only TWD can deliver, you should definitely keep an eye on The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Whereas Telltale’s series was its own thing within the TWD universe, Survival Instinct is a prequel to the TV series and follows brothers Daryl and Merle before they met up with Rick and his gang. Terminal Reality’s Glenn Gamble was kind enough to debut some gameplay footage on IGN’s Up At Noon web series. Check it out after the break.

Here’s A Creepy New Trailer For The Post-Apocalyptic Indie Horror Game ‘Survivor Zero’

Yes, Survivor Zero is another post-apocalyptic zombie game. We have a lot of those. What makes this one interesting, is its focus isn’t in throwing hordes of the undead at players. Instead, the game promotes creativity and resourcefulness, both of which are critical skills to survive in this dangerous, zombie-infested world. For an indie title, this project is incredibly ambitious. The world is big and beautifully crafted, and it’s soundtrack — a crucial backdrop to any game — is being scored by the composer behind The Walking Dead: Assault. Check out its debut trailer, as well as a few screens (keep in mind, the game is still very much under construction), after the break.

I remember when BioShock Infinite was first announced back in 2010 with a 2013 release window and thinking, damn, I have to wait how long to play this? But now it’s only a few months away and boy oh boy, does it look good. Irrational was smart to refrain from showing too much of the game until now, because there really isn’t much going on right now with the whole holiday drought, which has left us more able to focus on what really matters. What is that, you ask? It’s the first five minutes of BioShock Infinite, of course. Check it out after the break.

THQ Is Giving Metro 2033 Away For Free, Let’s Celebrate With A Gorgeous New ‘Metro: Last Light’ Trailer

Metro: Last Light really can’t come soon enough. Next year is already brimming with amazing games, but for me, this one’s near the top. If you never played Metro 2033, it’s a moody post-apocalyptic shooter that takes place in (and under) a post-apocalyptic Moscow. It’s visceral, gory, creepy, and often terrifying — all traits that look to be shared by the sequel. See its stunning new trailer after the break.

When so many games have players defeating alien races, zombie invasions, or saving the world, this game focuses on the important thing: the quest to become cool. VGA 2012: Here’s Some New ‘BioShock Infinite’ Gameplay Footage To Make You Ache For Its March Release

We’ve had to wait a painfully long time for another game developed by BioShock creator Ken Levine and his Irrational Games studio, but come March, we’ll finally get that game, and so far it looks like it could actually live up to many fans’ astronomically high expectations. BioShock Infinite looks to retain many of the things that made the original so memorable — like an engaging story, a gorgeous setting, and fun, frenetic combat. At the same time, this won’t be the same experience, as Infinite takes us to the skies surrounding the floating city of Columbia. Gone are the wet and rusted halls of Rapture and the Big Daddies that roamed them. They’ve been replaced by huge, floating skyscrapers, a terrifying Songbird creature that hunts you relentlessly, and a new companion, Elizabeth. I think it looks amazing, but you should definitely watch this brand new footage shown at the VGAs last night and decide for yourself.

I’m honestly having trouble believing The Last of Us isn’t a next-gen title. It just looks so good. Along with a ton of other highly anticipated games, Uncharted developer Naughty Dog’s next project had a pretty incredible showing at the Spike VGAs last night. If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a post-apocalyptic tale of survival that stars Joel and not-Ellen Page, who run into fungus zombies and awful people as they make their way across the country. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was one of the many games that had world premieres at last night’s VGAs, and now the trailers are finally beginning to come online. I absolutely loved the original Lords of Shadow, and its twist ending created an intriguing situation for the sequel. In it, an ancient, white-haired Dracula awakens in modern times and recounts the good old days, when he was a strapping young Dracula who could kill giant house robots. Sadly, this is trailer doesn’t offer a glimpse as to what the actual game will look like, but it still looks great. Check it out after the jump.
